Considering that it’s gonna be a whole regional thing and the way he lose power in this area I don’t think it’s dramatic at all. Hell the entire parish lost power Tuesday for 6 hours because we got some rain

is there any chance the warm air erodes and this can turn to snow instead of ice?
No. Better start hoping for not a lot of moisture or warmer temps if you’re in SELA.

And I thought St. Landry Parish was bad.

What is this bright yellow ball in the sky that is coming through my window. I haven’t seen that in days....

Yeah the sun came out this afternoon and it was quite nice
Of course this would happen after I spent all morning freezing my arse off getting my house ready when it was in the 20s

Should we be looking at colder than forecast temperatures for Sunday am due to the sky clearing a bit this afternoon?

it was nice to see the sun for a bit... but...
no cloud cover means temps about to plummet worse than Enron stock when the sun goes down

That depends on if it clouds back up or not

I’m ready for it
Covered the entire bottom of my house with tarps, lumber, and random shite
It looks trashy af but no wind is getting under my house

1-2 weeks?! A bit dramatic, don't you think?
Power was out for up to a month after the last big ice event in North Mississippi
Nearly 750,000 customers were without power at some point across North Mississippi, with some outages lasting up to a month. Over 8,000 utility poles were pulled down by the weight of the ice, and over 4,700 miles of lines were downed. About 490 water systems were impacted, with as many as 741,000 customers without water at some point.

Was just thinking about the freezing rain potential tomorrow morning for Louisiana. Maybe locations south of the expected areas could also be in the mix (BR?)

Nuts almost the whole state of Texas is under a Winter Storm Warning. Crazy the whole states of Arkansas and Oklahoma are.

If BR gets 0.70”-0.85” of freezing rain like the model on the previous page shows, we’re heading for category 2-3 hurricane damage to trees. Especially with the forecasted winds of 10-20mph
