Hospitalizations down. Deaths low with about 20 per day. Good signs. Not sure why vents are rising but its still a low number.

Maybe if there are less deaths there are fewer vents “freed up” which keeps the vent numbers higher when a few new folks are put on vents.
I don’t know though — I think all this data is getting harder to decipher.

Increase in vents probably due to Easter festivities. This weekend and this week have been and will be a free for all. If we don't have a large increase in 2-3 weeks then we should be okay till October.

Because the case total is so very wrong, the mortality percentage is also grossly wrong. Useless stats.

Region 5 is skewed by the "weeks old" results that were dumped on Friday. Calacsieu, the largest parish in Region 5, had 48 on Friday. Excluding Friday's results, the avg per day cases in Calcasieu for the last 15 days is 6.5.

I know someone whose mother lives in Region 6/Rapides Parish. The mother is in ICU with the virus. She worked at Pinecrest. Nurse told her daughter that there were 147 cases at Pinecrest and it's basically on lock down, but I can't find anything to support that information, other than an article reporting 8 cases there in early April. If true, though, that would represent almost 50 percent of the cases in Region 6. Another daughter worked there also and was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago, but she has recovered.
