I love how people expected numbers to stay the same or go down after we started opening back up. So many shocked people.

Sure, some people are misinformed. But, claims such as 7% mortality, assurance that 1 infected person will infect all 100 people at a party.

It has been atrocious. I've told my wife multiple times that if I used these statics to make treatment decisions, I would lose my license and be laughed out of my field with the quickness.

Based on that chart it looks like a lot of people are dying on Mondays and it drops every day until the next Monday. Could there be a reason for this? Would a 3 or 4 day weekend actually save lives? Based on the data I'd say we owe it to ourselves to try it out.

Many places labs and offices closed on Sundays and rural area may not report on weekends.

There is more testing b/c there is an uptick. People aren't getting tested for shits and giggles. Many are getting tested b/c they have flu-like symptoms in June. My guess is the uptick in cases will be somewhat disproportionate to the uptick in what really matters which is hospitalizations and vents, b/c it seems the younger folks are the ones spreading it so rapidly.
I'm sure the downvote brigade will be here to call me a Karen or some dumb shite. I'm not staying at home. I'm working, going to restaurants, hanging with friends, etc. But denying there is an uptick is basically sticking your head in the sand.

People are getting tested in large numbers because work and schools/camps are requiring it. The contact tracing thing has a lot to do with it as well.
Do you have any kind of proof that more people are getting tested because they are showing symptoms or did you just make that up?

42% of patients tested positive through our community testing run sites (ochsner), responded they dont remember having any symptoms or sickness......

An encouraging note is that even with the increased testing, increased criteria for testing, Phase II opening, and protests … this thing is flat out NOT getting off the ground again in NOLA.
More credence (with NYC) that once a critical mass is hit in that 20% of the population range, it has a hard time spreading. The confirmed prevalence in NOLA is ~2%, however a TON of cases were missed when the spike was present there. The rest of the state playing catch-up is what we're seeing now.

No, there is now contact tracing, testing before elective hospital procedures and the like, testing to go back to work by employers, mass testing in nursing home and prisons, etc. That's causing the uptick. Test more, find more. Find more when hitting "target rich" environments.

True. And the majority wouldn't even get tested because of the symptoms they experience in any other year if this wasn't in the news.

There is also an uptick in testing because people are being required to have it for work. I know quite a few businesses who had everyone tested before re-opening. Add to that all these college athletic programs that are testing athletes multiple times.
