Well, obviously! We are now, nigh 30 days later, seeing that much hyped Memorial Day spike. They called it...and now it's finally here!

Yes you a-hole. It’s only white kids going to bars. How dare you question the motives of those who want justice for George (and a few other things)

You’re racist if you’re white and privileged per Dr. Avegno. 600 person bounce party to celebrate Juneteenth is perfectly acceptable. 50 person graduation party of Newman students that resulted in 25 cases is racist.

Pretty heavily weighted in the younger age brackets, hospitals shouldn’t have any trouble absorbing it.

Mike Foster is the most competent governor anyone under 40 remembers living under and being semi-aware of politics.

There was gonna be an uptick when things opened.

Acting surprised is ignorant.

Mainly young which probably won't require hospitizations and summer time which greatly lessens severity.

If number of cases continues to rise and coincides with fall winter weather then they may have hospitization issue.

But there actually hasnt been. Thats what is infuriating me. People are all just giving in to the uptick as being factual

The percent of tests returning as positive is not increasing. There is no uptick, there is just more testing

I was alive for others, But Foster was high school and college for me. Jindal was ideologically pure but had trouble governing the state with his hard line stance. I’d say JBE is the most sly/politically adept. But we’ve consistently lost out on jobs, businesses, etc. moving to other states. I can’t say one area LA has improved in on his watch. Blanco was a disaster but was also derailed by Katrina/Rita.

Positivity percentage aside, there obviously has been some type of uptick because, after a steady six week decline in hospitalizations, we have seen a consistent increase over the past 2 weeks

On 4/13 we had 2134 hospitalizations ... I'm not worried about the uptick of 16 statewide. Maybe I should be but I'm not.

THIS the word spike is such a sloppy and misleading statistic.

I'll give two situations:
A. On Monday there were 2,500 in the hospital, Tuesday there were 2,550.

B. ON Monday there were 600 people in the hospital, on Tuesday there were 660.

B is the THE BIGGER SPIKE!! But which one is actually more concerning.

Reporting spikes needs to be done away with

But this should be 100% expected even without an "uptick"

Original cases start dying/leaving the hospitals in droves which leads to a huge decrease, which we saw. Once that wears off, the numbers will start increasing again with new cases. As long as that increase isnt steep like it was in the beginning, it shows there isnt an uptick, which it hasnt.

So you’ll only care about hospitalization numbers once the total gets over 2000? So who cares about statistics in the meantime?
