I've been doing this since the day they said Rudy Gobert had it. I'm 61 with Lupus and I take care of my 89 and 84 year old parents. We've pretty much been staying away from everyone except the guys delivering packages, Walmart's grocery pickup guys, and the people at drive thru restaurants. Yesterday was the first time we got out period. Did the Walmart grocery pickup and dropped by a BBQ place on the way home. Yesterday was the first day we got out in the car, since this all started.
I've been following the 3 foot rule when walking in the neighborhood. Have actually met nice neighbors that I wouldn't have encountered if I was still going to my gym to workout. Look forward to having them over when this gets more manageable.
We're already kind of rationing some things. Drinking nothing but coffee, juice and water with our breakfast and water during the day. Drinking a little lemonade or tea with dinner.
I've been on here more than normal. This borad, the outdoor board and the Movie/TV board are the only ones I post on.
I've read some of the political board.

I have neighbors, a couple in their 70s. The husband has diabetes and he texted me earlier this week and pretty much told me he just wanted to let me know that they will avoid getting out unless they absolutely have to.

Yesterday I went out in the my neighborhood and the neighborhoods around me and saw a lot of people out doing yard work, but no one was stopping and talking to each other, other than a few groups of kids I came across who were just riding their bikes around. For the most part it seems like most people are being aware and being respectful.. Except when I went to walmart earlier this week. Saw someone I haven't seen in years and he came out and locked hands and gave me a hug with a chest bump.. It caught me off guard because everyone else in the store was making an attempt to not get close to each other.. No one was stopping and talking for long periods of time..

I drink a half a cup of coffee in the morning and I am good to go for awhile, I have a water filter on my sink and have a pack of gatorade. Also have a box of oatmeal which I can use water to make if needed. The only thing I need to go see if I can get are eggs. I have 1 egg left and that seems to be an item that people are buying up. I need to get some chickens so I would never have to worry about eggs again.

Why? the nation's food supply is no danger of crashing and if shelter in place is put on you can still go to the grocery store

To stop things like spring break. I actually think this is a bad ideas. The right course lies between locking shelter in place and just do nothing. I think we need to loosen up some to get the infection rate a little higher. The right rate is one in which our hospital system is bending but not breaking.

We don't want to go in with all of the other people, but we haven't been able to get everything we want ordering for delivery or pickup. One thing we haven't been able to order for delivery or for grocery pickup is Robitussin DM cough syrup. Another is Wet Ones hand wipes. We'd be happy with Walmart's brand of either too, but haven't been able to get them. This morning their website said they had three of the hand wipes for in store purchase, but buying them without going into the store wasn't an option
My mom ordered potatoes, but got an email saying they weren't available.
When I ordered Wednesday, I couldn't get a box of Crystal Light or Walmart brand sugar free lemonade, or Salted Caramel Powercrunch Protein Bars. Today I can get both, and just put in an order. I was worried about running out of the lemonade. I guess we can have a glass with lunch tomorrow.
I think I'll go to Dollar General at 7 am and see if they have the cough syrup. I ordered two bottles from Amazon, but they won't have it to ship until April 1st.

What is the point of shelter in place if large work places such as manufacturing and plants allow to operate with hundreds of workers in their facilities? I get that ppl need to work but if you want to curb the spread allowing hundreds of ppl to gather and work together in one place for 8 hours or more a day doesn't seem to be the smartest move.

I just got back from Target. Mostly picked over shelves. No bread or pasta at all. They did have eggs and sandwich meat though. And milk. No anti bacteria anything.

Shelter in place is taking place tomorrow. There will be a rush of hysteria tomorrow but will die back down just as it did in the first wave.

Pretty much is except for some things ppl keep panic buying. I was just asking you know if the Governor called for non essential stuff to stop and for ppl to stay home. It would seem pointless and ineffective if large companies with hundreds of employees that don't directly provide food or personal services are allowed to still operate.

Only fast good places to be open will be located along interstates so that truckers have a chance to get something to eat. As others have mentioned all of the other businesses will be shut down that are not essential such as hair salons, clothing stores etc. so no it is different from where we are right now.
