And it was during the work week. Being told to stay inside on the weekend is going to change some viewpoints.

It's a doubling down and will be more miserable for more people. Stress and panic are about to ratchet up again. Feels like we are slowly being cooked.
It's going to be a shite show when this thing abates. The masses are going to emerge from their hiding spots unkempt, unemployed and even more obese than normal.

I'm hoping there will be a backlash as to how this was handled.

I have a good stockpile of weed. I couldn't even begin to be sheltered in place and not be stoned.

So JBE told us what shelter in place does NOT mean. Did he clarify or explain what it does mean?

Then why make this declaration?

There is no declaration, you simpleton. It was an informative post to calm all the idiots that think shelter in place is martial law.

Not just that, but we won't be allowed to be riding out on the roads either. It will mean shelter in your place, meaning stay in your home for weeks and not go anywhere. I'm sorry, but I think what we're doing now is more than enough. Our lives have all been turned upside down, and I think this might make the overly anxious segment feel more secure, but it's overly drastic in my opinion.

Yes there are a bunch of retards out there partying and going to beaches, etc. But don't penalize the rest of us because they refuse to follow suggestions.

We should be. I mean, if we are going to do it, we may as well do something that might actually help.

This is where I’m at. I believe we have blown this out of proportion. However, the damage is done. We have all but shut things down and the economy has taken a hit, we have increased the national debt, etc.

Let’s just take this shite seriously over the next couple weeks and people don’t leave their homes unless they have to and get back to normal in April. The f we are goi to do it, let’s do it right and get it over with

So everything is still open and we can still go to work?

I’ve had enough of this government incited panic.

No. That isn't what it means.

When a chemical release happens, and a shelter in place is issued by State Police, that's exactly what it means. It means find shelter, and don't leave your home. If that's not what they mean, then they need to use different terminology.

At this point, I don't want the slow boil and almost want things to be as onerous and restrictive as possible. Maybe the economy survives close to 0% for two weeks better than 20% for four months.

And maybe, just mayyyyyybe, it's a quicker path to everybody going into full "frick this!" mode. Or maybe we truly will be piling bodies in the streets and some of the posters here can get in one last "Told you so!" before we all die.

there have been other places issue the "shelter in place" protocol and it isn't this strict

people are still allowed to go to work, the grocery, the pharmacy, etc

everything else is just closed

Yeah, maybe that's the best approach. Put everyone on lockdown so they can see how ridiculous this is. This shite has likely been around for months and there are overflowing morgues.

Stat at your house unless you absolutely have to leave.

Use your own judgement and common sense to know what that means.
