We can’t have communities of unsightly bums pissing in the gutter… while the city hosts a bunch of unsightly, drunk, out of towners who piss in the gutter.

Those out of towners spend a ton of money in the city, bums don't. Tourism is important.

Because putting a substation on Royal solved all the French Quarter problems. Not.

Which is crazy because the overpass area by st charles/carondelet is way worse than it was 4 or 5 years ago.

Yeah it does seem like they have all shifted there. That will be cleared out too at some point I would imagine.

so why cant they do this the rest of the year?

Because there will be a major contingent of LSP in the city pretty much from NYE through the Super Bowl.

Can’t sustain those numbers all year long.

8 months is a pretty short turn around to revitalize a city that's been in the toilet for years

As soon as the SB is over they will let them go again.

I don’t think so. I think Landry was doing this with or without the Super Bowl.

What a trash mayor and administration…wake up residents
They woke up years ago and many have done everything in their power to kick her arse to the curb. She's been publicly exposed on numerous occasions (the downtown apartment/affair), news outlets have taken her to task her all-expense-paid, first-class travels, etc and the old bitch is still in office.

State police are all over right now. One of the few things Landry has done that will have a huge impact.

Sustainability is the result of everyone showing up every day with a common goal, with much smaller goals built in, that will allow the team to be successful. Intelligent people do this.

Can't let Teedy near ANY of this money....and can't allow her to take credit for anything in the city that gets repaired with this money either.

Meh.. I agree that there’s not much in the way of culture (they tore down my favorite horse racing track to build SoFo Stadium) though I do think some of the old Hollywood history is kinda cool.. but L.A. isn’t any more of a shithole than any other big city, all that nonsense is mostly political grandstanding and virtue signaling.. L.A. is like any other huge metropolis, it has nasty areas but it also has some really beautiful areas like Malibu, Bel Air, the South Bay and many others .. hell, they (well, OC) even have an airport named after John Wayne .

The encampment situation has seen a good tick down in recent months

Yes it has. One morning I was downtown and there was a massive encampment on Calliope St under the interstate. Drove back by 3 hours later and there were multiple bulldozers destroying that shite. I was legitimately shocked.
