Fairhope, AL. Stay at the grand. Cool little town.

You should be taking I-12 through eastern Louisiana anyway. That will take NOLA off the table.

Grand Hotel in Point Clear. Fair Hope is a pretty cool town to walk around. Grand is a good resort style hotel. Decent restaurants in the area. Good golf courses if that’s your thing.

Give me some ideas. I’m sure the city has some history. We’re not big drinkers or bar people but that’s all I’ve ever heard of it.
You can make a entire day out of the WWII museum.

Do a history trip: Pensacola Air and Space Museum and the Spanish Battery
New Orleans: the Jefferson Star Fort way down on the Mississippi and the Chalmette Battlefield and the WWII museum
Lafayette: the two historic villages (and promise yourself a visit to maritime Canada some summer to see what they gave up.)

Best stop in my opinion would be the Naval Air Museum and Blue Angels practice in Pensacola. I have been a 5-6 times and even though it is free, I would easily pay $50 to go again. Its that good.
I have to vote for this or the WWII museum.

I’m at the White House Inn in Biloxi right now. Very cool old place. Great massive lobby area with bar. Very good restaurant. Pool and patio seating. Upper terrace with tons of outdoor seating. Shopping. Good food. Having a great time.

I 100% agree with this. However, because of covid you have to have a DOD ID or be escorted by a friend with one.
From NAS website:
"The National Naval Aviation Museum is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to any and all visitors who can access NAS Pensacola under the Department of the Navy’s current policy restrictions. This policy allows anyone with valid Department of Defense (DoD) ID cards access to the installation (including the Museum). Those DoD ID card holders are also allowed to escort up to 15 guests (limited to 2 vehicles) onto the installation and the Museum. Holders of a Veteran Health Identification Card that notes a service-connected disability may also access the air station and visit the museum"

If you’re willing to venture an hour north if I-10, Fredericksburg is Texas wine country. Great area for couples to spend some time. Luckenbach is also right next door, which is an awesome, unique stop for any country music fans.

North Baton Rouge. Experience "The Culture".
Hell! That needs to be SWB's new NBR development slogan. Someone put her or Gravy in touch with me. I'll sell them the rights to it.

Stayed there a few weeks ago. Awesome little town. Great German food. Nice downtown shopping area. Wine tasting tours. Stayed at AirB&B. Nice trip.

Hit the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. A lot of swingers meet up there. Spend some time on the betting floor, pool and sports book, if you are not approached, that will tell you something.

Id stop in either Acadiana or Mandeville. You could do the boudin tour, hit up Parish and Bayou Teche brewery, eat at the Little Big Cup. Mandeville is nice and quiet. Go ride bikes on the lakeshore, nice places to eat, go to Fountainbleu State Park

Is the drive really that long to need multiple days?
Since the guy mentions San Antonio as a potential stop he must be deep in west TX. Let's assume El Paso. That would be a 20 hour drive.

What part of Texas? I live in NW Louisiana and were currently planning a trip that is Hot Springs->Nashville->Atlanta->Jacksonville, FL....we're hitting whatever on the way back...probably Mobile to break it up. Longest haul in the above itinerary is just 6 hours. We're pretty excited about it
ETA: just realized how deep in Texas you are....maybe nevermind

Dinning trip to New Orleans. Plan each meal with reservations. People from all go there for this. It’s one of the top dinning cities in the world.
Just say in the hotel after 10pm. It’s safe in the daytime, I’m there for work all the time, it’s a regular city while the scum are asleep.
