Looking for a place to stop and spend a couple days along I-10.....

Traveling from west Texas to the Florida gulf coast. Wife and I would like to stop on the way or way back and spend a couple nights for extra vacay time and split the trip up.
Only places I can think of are Houston (tons to do, culture, museums, etc)...New Orleans (zero desire, but wife suggested it.)...San Antonio (Riverwalk but doesn’t cut a ton off the trip)...Biloxi (can’t really think of anything other than casinos).
Tell me OT, where you stopping!??? Taking advice the more I think about it, the more I realize how much the southeast has no attractions.

Take interstate 14 instead.

Not San Antonio.
I'm jaded after spending over a year traveling there for work, but there isn't much to do at all. I'd stop in the hill country somewhere (Kerrville, Dripping Springs) or take a detour to Austin. Houston is just urban sprawl and you will get stuck in traffic no matter the time of day.

Is the drive really that long to need multiple days?

Agree, but doesn’t cut much off the trip. Plus, been there and done that. Was thinking Louisiana or Mississippi would cut the trip in half but :eyeroll:

Outside of Nola or the Casino beaches in Mississippi you're SOL on those 2. Nola can be a ton fo fun especially if you're willing to get out of the quarter

Give me some ideas. I’m sure the city has some history. We’re not big drinkers or bar people but that’s all I’ve ever heard of it.

If you like live music head down to Frenchman Street, downriver of the quarter, head out into the swamps and do an airboat tour and see some alligators up close and personal, lots of historic plantation homes along River Road outside of town, etc.
Also, there are a ton of fantastic restaurants around the city as well

Out of those 4 I think NOLA would get the nod especially if you've never been. You can waste hours just walking the area dipping in and out of different shops. Houston would be my #2, catching an Astros Game, walking the Galleria, and grabbing some Pinkerton's and Torchys is always a decent way to spend a few days.

Ocean Springs is a cool little town and you can just make the drive for the casinos in Biloxi if you want
