I was thinking about the prison thread and solitary confinement.

I once went a week and a half without uttering a word while on a solo project. Silence is one of my favorite things in the world.

I'd doubt any one here has gone a whole day. People generally don't know how or when to shut up.

I talk to myself all the time, so probably about ten minutes.

Maybe half a day? I have no idea. I'm a very social person and I get depressed if I don't get to talk to people.

To another person? Does talking to myself count?

The more threads you make, the more you seem like a strange cat.

I’m a female. Once I slept for 10 hours, so 10 hours.

You think no one on this board has spent even one day alone without developing the need to start a verbal conversation with himself?

Congrats on being better than the rest of us, buddy.

There's nothing worse than being around someone that thinks every silent void has to be filled with the sound of their voice. Women excel at this.

When I lived alone I had a weekend to myself and some Netflix dvds as well as plenty of food. I woke up on a Saturday and sometime that evening I realized I hadn’t spoken a word all day. It was peaceful.

A guy at work does some spiritual retreat once a year where they go all week without speaking.

Three days on a silent religious retreat. Not so hard and very relaxing.

I went about a week once. It was weird when I finally did have to talk. My voice felt kind of weak.
