Also drove from Nuremberg to Rota and back, about 3000 miles round trip. That was a seriously long drive.

South Louisiana to Missoula Montana about a 2000 mile trip. The trip included an old army jeep, a horse an trailer ,5 dogs/3 cats and a uhaul truck that went 70 mph top speed. I could write a cool and funny story about that 5 day trip but this spot would not be long enough.

Baton Rouge (LSU campus) to Pontiac Michigan (silver dome) for FSAE event as part of my senior project.

We drove straight through 23.5 hours up and 24.5 hrs coming back.

My parents drove from Baton Rouge to south of anchorage Alaska a few times in the ‘70s (when most of Canada route was gravel road) and again about 5 years ago

Lafayette to Denver then to Crested Butte, then back to Lafayette for a wedding. Everyone else flew and we drove, spent some time in Denver, camped in the mountains in CB, etc. Their trip was quicker, ours was much more fun. Driving > flying.

Also have done Lafayette to Key West and back. On the return trip I did it all in one leg, 18 hours. Nothing is more depressing than leaving Key West, driving for 4 hours, and realizing you’re only in Miami.

I drove from BR to NW Washington. 2600 miles or so one way (I flew home).

It wasn't really a trip for pleasure, and it was a long arse drive, albeit beautiful.

In 1993 me and my 2 roommates left BR the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving to drive to Taos, New Mexico to go snow skiing. We were in my roommate's Eclipse. We were unaware that when we went thru Dallas in the middle of the night that a freaking blizzard was about to hit.

By early evening on Thanksgiving we were getting hungry so we stopped in a little town called Tucumcari, NM. Oddly enough we found a restaurant that was serving a Thanksgiving buffet. That's when we noticed the blizzard happening in Dallas. For those old enough to remember Leon Lett botching a blocked FG attempt that allowed Miami to win the game.

We eventually made it to Taos, and it took us sharing driving duties, non stop (not getting a hotel I mean), 24 hours, right at 1100 miles, to make it there. We had fun skiing Friday and Saturday, and managed to get to our room on Friday in time to watch Arkansas pummel LSU.

That's the longest road trip, by car, I've ever made.

Fun fact, that was the last LSU home game I've missed.

Fun fact #2, as it was breaking dawn and we saw the Amarillo sign, Amarillo By Morning came on the radio.

Underrated place. Really nice country. And that donut shop over the border in Bristol TN is TERRIFIC.

As for my longest road trip, probably our annual NOLA-Tucson-Santa Fe-Fort Worth-NOLA slog. We do it in two weeks over Christmas and NYE. That's about 3000 eevn.

Next summer. Walker, LA to Estes Park, CO. I'd fly if it weren't the entire family going.

I did a similar trip a few years ago. Lafayette to Salt Lake City, Zion national park, Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Devil’s tower, Mt Rushmore, back to Lafayette.

New Orleans to a town right outside of Toronto and back. 22 hours each way. This was also in February so plenty of snow and ice when I got farther North. I'll never do it again.
