To live ? Good move.. but I have to say, everyone I know from all over the country is moving to Colorado .

I know at least a dozen people who keep homes in Florida and Colorado. I’ve never been to Colorado Springs, but I’ve heard mostly negative things about it. I’m a big fan of Boulder.

Going back to see family in Denver for Christmas with infant twins. We have to fly, not looking forward to the flight from MSY to DEN and back.

That Denver airport has been a wreck because of renovations. The longest line I’ve ever seen for security back in October.

As a kid, my dad packed up the family and took us on a 2 week business trip he had to see customers (he ran a trucking company). We drove from/to Savannah, GA and stayed in the following cities as best as I can recall from 40 years ago-

Atlanta, Birmingham, Jackson, Vicksburg, Shreveport, Little Rock, Jonesboro AR, Memphis and Nashville.

As an adult, I drove from Rome, GA to Stevens Point WI for my college roommate's funeral.

My brother drove from Atlanta to Steamboat Springs CO to ski during spring break one year when he was attending GA Tech.

Nothing is more depressing than leaving Key West, driving for 4 hours, and realizing you’re only in Miami.

I hate that drive and I do everything I can to avoid it.

Just got back Wednesday from a pheasant hunting trip in South Dakota. 1129 miles from MS to SD. That’s 17 hours if you don’t stop. We stopped for the night in KC on the way up and Saint Louis on the way back. 3 of us took turns driving so it wasn’t that bad.

BTR>Austin>Vegas>LA>PCH>Yosemite>across NV/Utah>Monument Valley>Lake Powell>Grand Canyon>Telluride>Boulder>BTR

Including 3 Grateful Dead shows, 4 days at Telluride Bluegrass Fest, 3 Steve Miller Band shows, and some Col. Bruce & ARU mixed in, as far as I can remember. This was about 6weeks long.

I have driven on multi-day road trips from suburban New Orleans to:

-- Dallas/Big Bend National Park/San Antonio/Austin (2220 miles round trip)
-- Washington DC (2191 mile round trip)
-- Kansas City/St. Louis (2061 miles round trip)
-- St. Louis/Chicago/Memphis (1913 miles round trip)
-- Biltmore, Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, Atlanta (1872 miles round trip)
-- Orlando/Miami/Tampa Bay (1816 miles round trip).
-- Cincinnati (1718 miles round trip)
-- Up north around Evansville, IN (1600 miles round trip)
-- Green Bay (one way back to New Orleans, 1141 miles over 2 days)

Longest single day drive was DC (actually Alexandria, VA) back home to New Orleans. Just over 1,000 miles.

When I was a kid we took a trip to visit family elsewhere and attractions that I think was about two weeks long, from Metairie to Mammoth Cave, Bardstown, KY, Cape Hatteras, and Six Flags in Atlanta. By my calculation the highway miles alone was over 2600 miles.

Mrs. Jeff and I flew to Bozeman, MT in June, 2019, rented a car, and made a 4500 mile round trip loop through 9 of the western National Parks back to Bozeman and flew home. Took 15 days and visited Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Arches, Canyonlands, Grand Canyon, Zion, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite. Traveled through Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California and Oregon. We got to Bozeman on June 8 and it was snowing. We flew home on June 22 and it was still snowing.

We drove from middle Georgia to Prudhoe Bay and back. Spent 3 months doing it and saw other spots out west. Over 13,000 miles. Incredible trip.

Baton Rouge to Vail. The only saving grace was that 75% was at night with a 4 hr nap at a rest area in BFE Kansas.

Drove with my dad to visit my brother in Colorado about 30 years ago and stayed 7 days before driving back. It was 1,400 miles each way...we drove to and from the different ski resorts while we were there (mostly Breckenridge and Copper Mountain). It wound up being a ton of driving over a 1 week period.

Drove from New Jersey to California. Then California to New Orleans 4 years later.

Longest and farthest flight was 6000 miles.
