The first cop actually told him to park his car a few feet away in a parking spot and take a nap but he fell asleep again at the wheel when the cop walked away. At that point the cops are forced to give him a dui test.

Don’t care what anyone says. DUIs are a racket. Also, they had the guys information. No reason to kill him. They would have found him next day.

Now do I think officers were wrong? No. But policies need to change.

If you aren’t coherent enough to park a vehicle after being told by officer to do so, they have to do something.

Years ago a friend of mine (who was one hell of an irresponsible drinker) had too much to drink and, rather than drive home, decided to sleep it off in the parking lot.

He was sleeping it off when a cop knocked on his window. He explained to the cop what he was doing. Cop didn’t care, and arrested him for DWI.

He didn’t get a pass, so why should this guy?

Considering the potential for disaster, I don't think they are too harsh.

He seems far too self centered to let that ruin his racket

Who's to say he was just going to go sleep if off somewhere.

He knew he was going back to jail and assaulted a police officer to keep it from happening. What's to stop him from doing something to someone else.

Sure. The cops could have let the guy go with a warning and have him wait for a ride. Or something to that extent. But they are under no obligation to do so. You can't break the law and then get mad when you get arrested for it, just because you believe they should have given you a pass.

Personally, Im glad they were trying to arrest him. Drunk driving is extremely dangerous. Tbh, someone should look up the numbers. Because I wouldn't doubt if drunk driver's killed more people than police killed black people last year.

So I just looked it up. Over 10,000 people die a year from drunk driving. frick that, I'm glad they were placing him under arrest.

I mean I knew it was an issue. But I didn't know there were that many victims. It's weird people always say they are fearful everyday they walk outside because they never know when a racist police will try to kill them. But with there being 1000 police shooting in total last year. You are 10x more likely to die in a car wreck then by the police.

And that 10x is likely much much larger because majority of those 1000 police shootings are all justified, where the perp brought the shootings on themselves.
