Stop voting for people who support this. Politicians who take money from these companies.
it doesn't matter who you vote for. They are all going to support this. First, they'll get paid to do so. Second, if they oppose it, they'll likely get run out of office. You aren't going to defeat the people who are making money off of this. And they're all in on it together. Even the ones you vote for that you JUST KNOW are on your side.

Yeah, apathy.
Not saying you are wrong. Just saying you are right because of apathy. Give up on what you know is right because what else are you going to do.

I never once said to give up or not vote. You can vote three times in every election if you like. But you aren't going to change anything. The government will still surveil us- directly or indirectly. And the entities that make money form it will participate in it and propagate it. That's why we can't change it. At least not on our lifetime. We may interrupt it- briefly. But we aren't going back.

If I didn’t need this stupid phone for work, I’d get rid of it tomorrow.

In relation to US politics conservatives/nationalists for generations have leaned towards the preservation of individual rights whereas Democrats/globalists have believed in the rights of the collective over the individual.
Those groups have for my entire life voted conservative whereas the democrats first believed in the primacy of the federal government and now want to move towards integration with the EU/WEF model., all at the expense of the individual.
Outside of the ANTIFA and the small libertarian presence in the center left I dont see any examples of anarcho politics in the US being advocated for at any meaningful levels from an influence or population standpoint.
If you want to argue that from a textbook standpoint that theoretically both result in application of power of government over the individual fair enough, that hasn't extrapolated to the US political scene in a consistent way, but I do grant that with MAGA supporting renewal of FISA and the Patriot Act recently its harder to argue that they're much better in terms of preservation of rights at the moment.

Since the 1980 election, little has changed except corporations and lobbyist support BOTH sides while BOTH sides pick your wallet clean and then blame the other side.
If youre wanting me to argue against the capture of both parties by corporate interest groups you're going to be waiting a long time.
I was speaking to the baseline views of the voters who support the two groups, not the reality of what the elected officials do who are mostly preselected and controlled by the interests functionally.

but they have a "smart" appliance version of everything that connects to wifi.
“they” might, but I dont
Me either.
The only "smart" thing in my house, besides the TVs, are my thermostats and I even hated the HVAC guys said I needed that.
My contractor for a renovation really is pushing a bunch of smart home tech and I have said no at every turn
I want dumb shite with knobs and switches.

my phone and any other personal electronic devices are owned by me. Extracting information from those, to me, would raise serious 4th amendment questions.
The last couple of times I’ve gone into WalMart, my phone auto connects to their WiFi.
WalMart also uses facial recognition tech in their self-checkouts.
I have their app so maybe I agreed to that in some buried T&C.

All over the store at Walmart. When you walk in the doors, look up. Everyone coming in is getting scanned. Then they are scanning you all over the store. Just look up. People never look up and they don't see it. It is pretty creepy.

If I can suggest and auto, my thoughts go to at least late 70's, 4 door, Detroit heavy metal. Pimp mode optional
Here is old school factory with modest whitewall
AC and heater work like no car made today
Engine with real power
Reliable drive train and Tranny (not the modern dude with boobs type)
