Defense contractor Leonardo is promoting a new technology called SignalTrace that will package plate cameras with sensors that can scrape unique identifiers tied to your smart devices and make that data available to law enforcement.
So we're headed to being a police state?
Oh and frick Leonardo

Did you study Merican history?
The forming of Merica was about 2 parties
The Federalist = landed gentry + bankers + lawyers
The Democratic - Republicans = farmers + merchants + workers + etc
Since the 1980 election, little has changed except corporations and lobbyist support BOTH sides while BOTH sides pick your wallet clean and then blame the other side.
"WAKE UP MERICA!"

says the guy "anonymously" posting on the web. Let us know when you figure out how to completely isolate yourself from all technology.

This is where our government needs to step in and protect us. Unfortunately, ever since 9/11 we've been a pro-surveillance state.
I wish there was some sort of way the average joe could make a buck off of all their own private data these companies are collecting and selling.

The other option is not allowing the government to collect data and monitor citizens.

Almost like it isn't about reducing crime.

good luck with that. I'm all for it, but we are so beyond that at this point I think its futile to complain. Your phone, PC, credit card companies, Amazon, Google, Meta, apps, etc are all monitoring you. We have little hope of anonymity or privacy at this point.

This is what they are banking on. Apathy.
Voluntary monitoring is not forced monitoring. Government monitoring is not commercial monitoring.
A somewhat analogy: A business saying you can't carry a gun is not the same as the government saying you can't.

OK. Tell the rest of the class what to do to resist. Its not apathy. Its the technological society in which we exist. But please tell us what you personally do to combat the status quo.

Stop voting for people who support this. Politicians who take money from these companies.
