this wasn't nearly as important as someone working a turnaround. these were all accounts payable people that 100% should have been at home. They were looking for an excuse to ding some people and pretend like they were doing something keep us "safe"
We just had covid run thru our service department before this and clearly they all got it from being in the shop every day but the company wanted to put it on us any time someone tested positive.They did a bunch of attempted contact tracing stuff when someone got it. Everyone was susposed to be honest about their comings and goings outside of the office. It was all a CYA thing by HR.
Unrelated to those ladies at the very begining of covid a co-worker and son got it. It was march 2020 and first people i knew that got it. My co-worker spent a month in the hospital because he couldn't test negative. During this his son's preexisting health conditions that were going to end his life one day soon anyway got significantly worse. The hospital wouldn't let him see his son before he died. Absolutely heart breaking, still feel terrible for him

Admittedly, I’m a huge nerd.
When all this went down, I started reading. I read all about mask studies in Africa. I read whatever I could about data from SK, China, Italy, the cruise ships. And with my background, I’m taught to question every single variable. In math and physics, we can’t make a single conclusion without understanding each possible change to the system/environment.
When Italy was taking place, no one seemed to consider their extremely old population. No one considered that they had 1/10th of the hospital beds per capita that the US had. No one considered that their social norms dictated that they go to an ER/Urgent care for every single issue because of their national healthcare system enabled that behavior. No one considered that any tests they ran were all on the critically sick. All of those attributes taken together resulted in the images and data that was shoved down our throats.

Daughter is/was an athlete in excellent shape and the Dr. said in no way shape or form did she need the “vax”. She even signed paperwork for LSU admissions stating this. Daughter gets put in a pool with the other unvaccinated students for random testing. I remember one time she got called to be tested 3 times in 1 week. It was fricking comical. Everything about that time in history seems like satire.

The real answer is that it should depend on the overall disease control strategy. In a cogent strategy, vaccination after infection is only to limit the HLA variation in antibody response. We did not have a cogent strategy though.

This board is full of people who I am convinced, dont know dick about healthcare or the medical profession.
I've never met a single GP or oncologist who would prescribe anything bc they get a kickback for pushing a certain medication.
Hopefully, none of the "pure bloods" ever get cancer and a oncologist prescribes the Covid vaccine to inhibit its growth.

They absolutely loved it.
For a good percentage of the population, covid was the most exciting thing to ever happen in their life. Gave them a sense of community and a sense of purpose.
Pulled out memaw's old Singer sewing machine and went to work making obnoxious masks and then forced the rest of us to wear the shite.
About a 6-week period there where homemade masks were gonna save the world. The bigger the better.
Some loved it and didn't want it to end.
And it didn't. Drug it out for 2-years some places.
Now 6.5 years later they think we don't remember who they are and want us to still trust their judgment.
