Hugh Freeze made it a point to speak in churches. He constantly quoted scriptures. He was outspoken about faith, all the while banging hookers.
You think Hugh was banging the hookers? Ole Miss recruits were getting laid. Hugh was just pimping.

I think that’s really what it is rather than truly religious people living a double life.
Some people just need to play the game.
Yep. Virtue signalling.

I'm impatiently awaiting the inevitable Osteen collapse. It will be grand.

Because people almost always cave to human weaknesses

Some of the most outwardly religious people are the biggest hypocrites. Religion should be all about show don't tell. Unless you're Tim Tebow, it's really hard to talk Jesus 24/7 and back it up.

It's grown arse men who still believe in magic and sorcery. I wouldn't expect them to have good judgment.

Almost every living human has a “ double life” to one degree or another .

Why don't you discuss the overwhelming majority who don't?

I would also say that the most ethical people I've ever met are deeply religious.
I think unfortunately a lot of people like the idea of changing their lives more than actually changing their lives.

My natural grandfather was a Pencostal preacher who ran off with his piano player.
Your grandpa sucked dick too. That DNA was just in him.

I think a lot of people, in the South especially, that are involved in some profession or other capacity that involves there being some amount of importance placed on public perception feel that being active in church and/or claiming an active spiritual life is essential. They are putting on airs and not really down for the cause.
Seems to be about getting your kids in schools too. It is almost like a country club.

Oh for sure, this. And let's not forget joining some committee for the school fair.
Definitely admirable but it seems like they are all cut from the same cloth: salesmen of some kind, illusion of perfect wife/kids, country club member, probably on HOA,

These people use religion as a cover. They aren’t really deeply religious.

wasnt aware (religious) people were perfect

Wouldn't it be easier to study those who don't claim to be religious and actually follow their religious beliefs?
Its an infimately smaller number.
Being religious and being a hypocrite is the normal position...wouldn't you agree?
