Brotha I read you post and understood, you made perfect sense.
But you’re coming off like an impatient old man who can’t be bothered to wait and the replies are reflecting that.
Just out of curiosity, what are you makinging?

Are you picking all this up or will you need it delivered?

This is the South
We used too be in the lumber trade
When I call, I get an answer with the first call
Screw mega companies
Screw AI
Nothing like knowing the locals and getting REAL service.
Not sure why young folks never get this and think I am the dummy.

I called and asked her for board foot pricing on each.
I've been called worse.....but I'll play your game....are you retarded?
Yes, you called and asked, you stated that clearly. Where did you say she actually gave you the price? OK fine, you left that part out, honest mistake.
So I ask "What am I missing?" And your first words call me the illiterate one and not express that that you left out an important detail.

How did you come up with that number?

You were probably talking to a secretary who passed off your materials / quantities to an estimator / salesman that’ll call you back when they’re done doing whatever they’re doing.
Don’t get your panties in a wad.

OP, one variable I can think of is that at such a large volume you might be entitled to a bit of a discount.
This right here. If some one calls and asks me pricing for a foot of pvc pipe im going to give them one price, if they ask for 2000' of pvc pipe im going to give them a better price. If they ask for 10,000 feet i need to run it by my sales guy and see what he wants to do.

I'm not buying a 2x4 with a price of 3.28, I'm buying lumber with a board foot price of 5.15.
There is no variation.
Meaning, whether you use a calculator, a spreadsheet, or a pencil and paper, the number will all be the same.
Do you always refuse bulk pricing so that you can pay full prixce?

He clearly is upset that they might be giving him a discount.
