While nuance seems lost, the key is to simply keep holding the line.
Being able to effectively communicate subtle positions through text isn’t easy. Especially when people are emotionally charged.

A transgender individual believes that their body is a version of the gender they view themselves to be.
A physically male individual who is transgender now has a female’s body once they accept the concept of being transgender, hence why the conflict in the OP exists.
The lesbian community is facing a crisis of being forced to accept that a physically male body is actually a female body, and you are the enemy if you don’t accept that.
That isn’t a separation of anything.

Except that my saying that people taking the position that "only gender exists" is bullshite is a position you, and everyone else on this thread who decided to devolve into name calling, agrees with. You may disagree with the proposition that sex and gender are distinct, but if they are distinct as concepts for the sake of argument, you would be 100% in the camp of "only sex exists", rendering the position that "only gender exists" as bullshite.
So, now that I understand your position, I'd like to ask an honest question:

Take the case of Professor Stock at Sussex University.
A lesbian who doesn’t believe that a transgender woman is a woman gets attacked and forced out of her job because she is defined as a “TERF”.
She didn’t think transgender women should be allowed into woman only safe spaces, like safe centers for abused women.
She was attacked for that.

It absolutely is in dispute in some circles now, and that baffles me as well (as long as we account for the biological fact that there is a very small percentage of people who are biologically intersex in some capacity).
