There would be acceptance of the concept of physical attraction to certain characteristics, not to the arbitrarily defined concepts that are being forced.
In the past, the ideas were separated.
Now, as seen in the OP, the physical and non-physical are altered and defined simply by the non-physical.

The physical is defined by the non-physical. They aren’t being separated.

Back in my day, I adapted to a group of actual, real, physical people. We went to hot topic together, physically did crap, went to Spanish moon and smoked clove cigarettes and all that shite. If we had trends or in jokes, they were shared in our localized community.

I agree. Not only does it kill organic creation of interesting sub-cultures, but the dogmatic fixation on rightthink (to continue the 1984 allusion) is utterly fricking toxic. It has morphed from "hey, let's have a conversation about why I think this might be a problem" to an aggressive game of oneupmanship that has everyone looking for their next perverse endorphin spike. It's a serious problem that has the potential to irrevocably wreck public discourse across the board.

I honestly think that The OT and TD in general is a great example of how it can be.
Not dominated by the present power structures, more localized, more individual, but of course with a community aspect as well.
Independent, influential and interesting. Sure, it’s not always Mensa, but it’s got more free thought than Reddit and other places
