You don’t even need to do that, simply open the drawer and give back correct change. Remove excess cash at end of shift so everything balanced

It's a huge pain in the arse to accept cash for some types of businesses. It also opens said business up to having to deal with employee theft, counterfeit currency, etc.

You can't use cash on the cruise ship when you're ordering things, but you can settle with cash at the end of the cruise. I just did it.

NYState has a law requiring the acceptance of cash payments. Some other states too. Seems to be a civil rights issue since some people don't have plastic.

If a cashless place says you can’t pay with cash, you can give them the exact amount, take the item and leave. That’s not illegal.

If a business does not accept cash, that business should also be banned from charging a card fee.

The government wants to track you with electronic data. Everytime you use your credit or debit card the government can access your location. More big brother monitoring you.

I'd say that you are wrong. Take possession of the item (pick up a can of soup from the shelf). Then if they refuse to take cash, cite the following:

I'll say that every modern government in the world wants a cashless society. They would prefer a card or the digital equivalent.
The reason? If we have a serial number or rfid chip on or in everything the powers that be cand deny your purchase of anything from an aspirin to a bullet. All the big computer in the sky has to do, is deny that transaction and Big Brother has eliminated your ability of movement and commerce.
Without Big Brother''s nod of approval, you can't even buy a donut hole.
