Keep us updated on MC Slack. Stay safe. Power went out in Belle River for a bit earlier but is back on.
Oh I will. I'm hoping for a single gust over 50 mph so I can bust lsupride87's arse.

Haven’t they been running busses in the evacuation zones? My life is on the line car or not I’m up the frick out of there someway or another
Yes, they did. But I am sure they didn't knock on every door in LC. It's going to be old folks left behind. That is what is so sad. Now a healthy fool wants to stay, there should be writing their name somewhere on their body.

Were you in NOLA? Like I said in another post I was in BR. I stayed at my parents home. I don’t remember it being bad at all. I think I lost power at my apartment for a few hours. The hurricane that scared me was Andrew and that was because BR got blasted by the east side. Katrina was the west side for BR which may be why it didn’t really make me nervous.

He's not wrong. Some coastal towns will not exist tomorrow.

She went right over my parents house. We went down about ten days after, and that's something I'd rather not do again.
The sights, sounds, smell, etc. All crazy.
IIRC there was some part of Gulfport, MS where a warehouse that processed or stored chicken was hit and there was raw and then rotting chicken all over the place. I'm sure the smell was horrendous.

All these stories are making me want to go back to the Katrina mega thread that was posted last year or the year before. Just unreal stuff. Is there a movie about Katrina?

Imagine living 100 years or so and not having any clue what was headed directly for you.
Looks like rain.

I evacuated for Katrina. Also for Ivan and Gustav. I got pretty good at it between 2004 and 2008.
Same here....stayed for Issac. That’s was enough for me

If it wasn’t for that whole sea level situation New Orleans would have made out pretty well.
That’s one hell of a qualification

It was shipping containers at the harbor that got washed up on land and broke open.

Read Isaac's Storm a book about Isaac Cline and the Galveston Hurricane of 1900. Over 6000 died.

Doesn't surprise me.
To this day I will not step in the Gulf in BSL 'cause I'm afraid of what I might step on.
