I’m not on a utility crew but am working in conjunction with them. We are to report to a staging area as part of our contract with the power company and will be assigned a location once weather conditions improve.

It's turning pretty good now. It might come in right over Lake Chuck instead of between LC and the state line.

As I mentioned earlier, this would be a win for LC. Lower surge (although still incredibly high) and the slightly weaker winds.

May get more tree damage though, as you'll get very strong east winds, the eye, then very strong west winds.

When the requesting utility is either entergy or Cleco, those two alone cover nearly all of LA. They could literally be sent anywhere unless it’s a municipality or coop and even the coops are large areas.

Thinking of doing something similar. People helped my arse during 2016 and I will try to return the favor.

Have there been any tornados stronger than an EF-1 in recent memory with hurricanes.

Obviously not recent history, but Hilda in the 60s had an F-4 that killed 20 something people. My grandpa was in a tug boat tied up in the Intracoastal and saw the whole thing. He said it was the most terrifying thing he’s ever seen.

Didn't Isaias just a few weeks ago drop an EF-2 or EF-3 tornado in like Massachusetts?

The house ended up being torn down (it was in the Murphy buyout area).

Had three family members lived in that area.

How deep is the eye from the top of the clouds to the surface of the water?

Around 8-10 miles, more or less.

Question about the staged utility trucks - do they already know where they're going? Do they have contracts or do they just drive to the highest bidder once it passes?

I don't have experience with Hurricanes but other weather outbreaks. We would station in particular area and EMS would dispatch us as needed. The EMS coordinated everything.

It's going N and then more W for a NW to NNW heading. Powerful storms move like this.

Jaw dropping.

Slack my aunt works for SLEMCO and this is part of her job. She contracts with other companies. They sort of have people they always work with.
