Some of those storm chasers are going to learn the hard way. SWLA is a different animal than Panama City or Port O'conner when dealing with surge.

it really looks like its making a b-line for beaumont. i guess it's supposed to shift more north at some point later this evening? still haven't seen that upper north turn.

Alright stupid question but is the storm surge literally just a wall of water? A big wave that hits at once or is it a gradual rise of water?
