I just don’t understand this thought process. If you work for the weather channel and are getting paid to be there, sure.

Love that table slack. Do they have anything like that for gusts?

Also... Lake Charles has a 98% chance of tropical storm force winds. Would LOVE to see that Black Swan 2% event happen.

Well, folks, I'm sure Rapid Intensification has been on the BINGO board this morning already. I'm not even going to look. What it has done overnight is unreal.

I wish everyone in the path of Laura good luck and I really am praying. If you can leave, leave. Do not mess around with this one.

Unless the Sheriffs departments allows those who stay camp out in the Cameron Parish courthouse. They let some residents stay there during Rita, and it was about the only thing still standing. It’s fortified pretty well.

Courthouse will survive. My grandfather rode Audrey out on the top of it with my pregnant grandmother. But it's stupid, absolutely stupid to ride it out down there and a good chance you die even in the courthouse, 100% chance anywhere else down there.

Did anyone pay the $10 or whatever for patreon? I’ve never used the service. But I’m curious because someone a hundred pages back or so said a Sudduth? Was setting up cameras in Cameron and Holly beach. I’m extremely interested to see if it’s worth the money

Rita flooded much of Florida Blvd. east of Airline in Baton Rouge. The service roads had several feet of water. As I recall, there was considerable flooding.

Looks like Laura is stabilizing for a bit. Last recon pass was stable with the pressure too. Hard to say that's not at least a silver lining for now.

I guess I shouldn't have said 24 hours, more like 12. I think we'll wake up in the morning to a very organized, scary looking motherf*cker that is closer to its final intsenity when it makes landfall than it is to its current intensity.

I hate to say it, but my gut feeling of it turning into a formidable hurricane overnight came true.

Laura looks like one scary bitch right now. Haven't looked yet this morning, are models showing it intensifying at the same rate all day or kind of stalling out on the intensification?
