Not a myth

Comparing the last few advisories, looks like Laura is further north than projected and last advisory was more NW movement. .6 in both directions

How worried should Houston be? Outside of flooding - which is going to happen regardless, but being on west side is better than east right? or is that a myth.
Yes, on a storm traveling North

That’s from the immediate center to the East in this case.
So, for the next one, how would I know/figure it out without asking?

To be fair, these places are still going to see wind and rain tomorrow and I'm guessing people will also be heading this way to gtfo of the way. Being this early it's not a terrible move

that TS wind area gets into/close to the BR area right now with the center at the LA/TX border and could continue to grow

False
Will shrink

but being on west side is better than east right? or is that a myth.
If a storm is moving west, say into lower Texas from the Gulf, the south side would be the weaker side and the stronger winds side would be the north half.
The weaker and stronger side is based on the direction the storm is moving.

Watching jogs in exhausting.

About 25-30 miles east of the last run. 937 mbs on landfall.

Likely no more than 1/16/th of an "H", if that.

Is it tracking East of the 700 AM advisory.

This is something I do as well. I love to look at the 3 and 6 hour movement compared to projections. Yes these are little jogs but that + speed now can have implications 48 hours from now.

What does the M stand for on the updated map on the op?
It goes H,M,H,S
I know what H and S are, but confused on the M
