How does this affect Laura’s track?

Hard to imagine it will have much impact since the models have been suggesting it would have trouble. In other words, it's not a surprise, so the modeling is mostly accounting for it.

Just a suggestion, but did you try to get into the actual tank instead of from where you fill it up?

No. I was at the beach. I didn't want to disconnect the filler hose laying on sand. Looked like a disaster oncoming with the sand everywhere.

Based on recon the center of Marco is probably partially exposed at this point as recon is pinning it at the very edge of the cloud canopy.

18z Euro EPS and GEFSv12 for Laura

Will that same shear not rip Laura apart?

I wonder at what point Jamaica starts seeing flooding issues? The eastern side is getting dumped on.

I rode out those too.

My rule of thumb is if it's looking like a 3 or higher and there is a decent chance it will be close I'll likely go. The uncertainty on this Laura is getting aggravating.

Dang. I imagine something like that will likely give you perspective on things.

It won't hang around that long, and Laura will be a larger, more robust storm. It should handle what shear remains.

What were the storms that trailed each other like this 15 years or so ago?

The prediction was for the second storm to strengthen more, but the first storm appeared to cool surface temps and prevent intensification. Both were coming towards La.

The upper trough doing the shearing is going to back away over the next day or so.

High pressure will be working in over Florida and the eastern Gulf. That’ll lead to an environment with less shear.

no

the shear ripping apart Marco is leaving the area

think of it this way... Marco & Laura are both inside of a moving circle (a high pressure system)

Marco's more towards the edge of that circle where the winds are highest

Laura more in the middle of that circle where the winds are calmest

Possible breakdown in steering currents, may shift this track back to the East.

That's what I'm wondering. Are the models showing that the shear will be gone by the time Laura gets there?

The wife (no pics) has WDSU on, and these insufferable twats have spent the past 30 minutes talking about covid. I'd rather hear Margaret Orr doomscream about putting a hatchet in the attic than listen to this shite.

Bernard on fox8 is insisting on a eastward shift at 10. He’s not saying why this would be.
