Yes, the trough that is destroying Marco will pull back out of the GOM by the time Laura arrives.

So Marco went tits up I about 4 hrs, but now we may be looking at a very healthy Laura as a result... Oh boy.....

Laura's health was going to be good regardless how long it took Marco to be sheared to death.

It's more don't pay attention to just how strong it gets, but the strengthening it shows indicates conditions are favorable for intensification.

Not the way it was reported at the time to people on the SE FL coast. In fact it was later determined to be a CAT 4 or 5 and was the most intense hurricane ever in the Atlantic/Caribbean and went from a tropical storm to a major hurricane in about 48 hours.
