Based on recon the center of Marco is probably partially exposed at this point as recon is pinning it at the very edge of the cloud canopy.
Decoupling starting? Looks like it.

We should be getting the 10pm update any minute, but how about the HWRF dropping this Cat 5 Laura into Galveston...

Are the models showing that the shear will be gone by the time Laura gets there?

That's what I'm wondering. Are the models showing that the shear will be gone by the time Laura gets there?
Yes, the trough that is destroying Marco will pull back out of the GOM by the time Laura arrives.

If so, it is early. Hell, Marco may not even make an official landfall.

Is this the one Duke warned we weren't supposed to watch for strength, just direction?

Laura's health was going to be good regardless how long it took Marco to be sheared to death.

It's more don't pay attention to just how strong it gets, but the strengthening it shows indicates conditions are favorable for intensification.

Wilma was a category 3...
Not the way it was reported at the time to people on the SE FL coast. In fact it was later determined to be a CAT 4 or 5 and was the most intense hurricane ever in the Atlantic/Caribbean and went from a tropical storm to a major hurricane in about 48 hours.

David B says new Iberia.

Earlier he said based on the models shifting more East, the high pressure not building in as strong and Marco leaving a weakness behind for Laura to possibly follow
