She was ordered to stay away from him & have no contact. Don’t see how they could have gotten married but then again she doesn’t seem to GAF

Let’s compromise and make her stay in Iceland permanently.

I'll pay extra for that

According to the motion for permission to travel, her attorney, her pretrial services officer and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan Ginsberg all have no objection to her request.
You have to believe that the US Attorney’s Office requested the travel restrictions & surrender of her passport. Now they have no objection to giving her the passport back & allowing her to travel out of the country. Somebody please explain this to me.
But I guess Judge Vitter will do the right thing. That’s how things work in the Vitter household.

I was also surprised to see that this was an unopposed request. I would have loved to have seen the arguments her counsel would have made if the US Attorney opposed her request.

I would bet money that Latoya could not locate Iceland on a world map.

Does she by any chance think they have a non-extradition law in Iceland where the Feds can't get at her????

if so, it seems they cannot testify against each other --- husband , wife.

the truth is, the only direct evidence they have of her personally breaking the law is her false testimony to the federal grand jury. She lied under oath, the case there is open/shut. Vappie on the other hand they’ve got clear evidence on multiple counts of payroll fraud. Again, open/shut.
Wasn't part of the indictment that she allegedly signed off on Vappie's overtime approval during time spans in which they were spending "personal" time together that had nothing to do with city business?

vappie is going down regardless.
latoya has less to fear, i would not be surprised if the fraud charges against her are dropped in exchange for a guilty plea to the perjury charge

To secure a conviction for false declarations before a grand jury under 18 U.S.C. § 1623, the government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the witness:
Was under oath as a witness before a grand jury.
Made a false statement or "declaration."
Knew the statement was false.
The false statement was "material" to the grand jury's investigation. A statement is material if it has a natural tendency to influence or is capable of influencing the grand jury's decision

I like Iceland. Great country. But if she agreed to stay in Canada or Brazil I’d have no objection.

Somebody there must be holding some of her money. If the judge lets her go on that “vacation “, she ain’t coming back.
