The blitz may have had a chance of working if they had the element of surprise. But there's no element of surprise any more for a force that big. Even if the US hadn't been publicly sharing intel in real time, there's plenty of open sources reporting the same information. Countries don't mass that kind of firepower unless they intend to use it. History makes that abundantly clear. The Ukrainians were waiting at Hostomel and blew the first wave off the landing zone. The Russians have been playing catchup ever since.
I was surprised at the lack of effort Russia put into trying to get to Zelensky. No, or very few, air or artillery attacks on the Kyiv government district and the rumored hit teams, if any existed, never got close.

Uh the USA spent more than a few months in Syria. The USA had thousand of troops deployed in Syria from September 2014 until February 2019. The USA is still indirectly involved in both Yemen and Syria.

Once the public starts to lose interest, so too will the politicians who are banging the drums about how "we must continue to support the Ukrainians" and that we must "continue to fight the Russian invaders down to the very last Ukrainian."
The honest truth? White people, not people in the Middle East that aren’t going to get the attention of the average person in the west, especially the people of Yemen. I’m 41 and outside of terror attacks from the usual religious extremist, Russia has always been the big bad.
