That is exactly the way the founders intended it to be. Civilian control of the military is enshrined in the Constitution. They did not want generals having political ambitions. Eisenhower resigned his commission when he ran for President, even though he was already retired, just to make that point perfectly clear.

They proved that already to be false

What they can do is obliterate everything indiscriminately

But if there is no city to set up a puppet government in what’s the point

I really wonder if and how much NATO is involved in the command and control of the Ukraine resistance.

Troops are pouring in from foreign countries as volunteer forces to Ukraine, and like 8 people globally will claim to be proficient in Ukranian as a second language.

If this were a NATO operation, all parties would be speaking in, and issuing orders, in English. However English proficiency in Ukraine is quite low, and probably a major risk if they switch their entire command and order structure to be in English to accommodate foreign troops.

Via Reddit

The above link via Reddit documents Israeli soldiers entering Ukraine to fight the Russians. So how, and in what language, are they being told where to go? The only thing that makes sense is a NATO conduit vs. tying the Israeli troops right into to the existing Ukraine system with a language no one from Israel understands.

Also, the Ukrainian military was a mess in 2014

No, it was not. This coming from someone who was there in 2012.

Just a friendly reminder that we have over an entire Division worth of troops and equipment sitting in Poland.

Not to mention the other assets sitting in places like Romania and the Baltics.

Hammer of God is an understatement if Putin so much as twitches the wrong way to NATO.

I also thought the same, seems like Russia’s military might has been greatly over estimated. Take nuclear weapons off the table and it’s a outdated and underfunded military that wouldn’t last long against NATO.

Joe has been sitting in Poland a month now with no access to the vodka and hot arse that Poland has to offer.

Putin doesn't want that heat.

What about submarine fleet? I never hear about Chinese subs, which I guess means they are doing something right.

Compared to the US, it's a non-factor: 58 of which 6 are nuclear-powered. We have 72 nuclear subs alone. But China is really busy building.
