What a dog shite Russian mouthpiece article that is. "ok yes invading Ukraine is bad but Putin kinda has a right to since the US has imperialist operations there and that's scary" is straight up tankie talking points and you're aligning yourself with it.

And like the Russians don't have a couple of centuries worth of brutalizing and killing Ukrainians by the millions in their pocket. No shite they want to move away from the Russian sphere of influence if given the opportunity.

That was the whole damn start of it. Someone posted a bad analogy from Reddit, I pointed out that it wasn’t really very accurate and that there is a lot more history and nuance to it and got attacked because I didn’t agree with that narrative.

Spin it however you want but do you really think being absorbed by Russia and losing any hope for sovereignty will be better for Ukraine's economy than aligning itself with the West? Look at Poland. Their GDP per capita is almost 5x Ukraine's. Not to mention setbacks caused by the destructive toll of the invasion.
This is about what's better for the future of the Ukrainian people and the majority of them ain't making money under Putin like they would with an economy hooked into western Europe.

It's pretty clear the admins won't sticky this thread because of all the political BS that keeps getting interjected, and it would mean they'd have to stay on top of it to just constantly delete posts all the time to keep it on topic.
Most of the info and videos posted in this thread is coming from Twitter accounts of people on the ground in Ukraine - most of whom aren't even American - so there's no reason for a political slant to be added-in.
I'm following this thread because I just want to read about developments on the ground in Ukraine. I don't want to read about Joe Biden sacrificing a baby or how Putin is actually a lizard.
