More than likely the North Sea. The USMC has traditionally had the role of reinforcing NATO’s Northern flank in Scandinavia.

There is also an indication that the Russians targeted both nuclear and fossil fuel E&D in Europe to gain a greater share of the fossil fuel market in Europe.

An indication? You can call it by its proper name. Angela Merkel.

There is so much firepower in Poland, Latvia and Romania right now.

Can you imagine what our BCTs could do in a conventional war versus what Russia has shown so far?

It would be like the fist of god coming down on them.

Which is why Putin isn't going to touch any of the Baltic states.

kind of rich since the 4 chan quotient over there is pretty unapologetically pro-nazi in every other context.

There are so many Apaches over there the armor wouldnt make it in time. And you can only imagine what the AF has close. It would be ugly but it would be quick.

Just watch video of Desert Storm, I imagine it would be very similar. My opinion of their conventional warring ability has dropped faster than stocks on Bleck Monday.

Somebody on the Russian side has to know what they're up against. They can't all be delusional.

This new Russian use of the term "Nazi" is applied to anyone who the Russians have decided they should conquer and control. In other words, it actually means nothing.

Hmmmmmmmm, where else have we seen a concerted effort to stigmatize opponents by mis-labeling them?

I watched the videos of Russian forces jumping into Kyiv the other night under fire, I was thinking, what are these 20 dudes going to do once they land? It made no fricking sense. Even if they're literal super Spetnaz or some shite. The whole city has Ak-47s and homemade bombs at this point. If they even survive the jump, chances of them getting together on the ground and organizing anything is stupid low, without NCO direction. What a waste. Looked like some real WW2 shite without the scale. One plane dropped one stick under illumination.

At first, I thought they were just throwing all their doctrine at the wall to see what worked. Like a massive validation live fire validation exercise or something. But as the days grind on and the casualties mount, it turns out this is what the Russian Army may truly be. Just a clusterfrick. I wish we had footage of the amphibious landing near Odessa to really round out the "what the frick is the Russian army doing" bingo card.

The fricking irony that modern nuclear energy is the cleanest form of energy we have available, and the eco-nuts despise it.

Yes that is why I can't support the fight against climate change. There probably is a lot of truth to the science behind it but the politicians and political activist groups have twisted the science so much that down is now up.

Just sharing, it doesn't provide much insight, but this interview was done this past weekend. Both guys are strength athletes living in Ukraine. Some may find it interesting.

I saw that and the only thing I could think of was Pathfinders maybe? A small C and C element to direct traffic. But normally they land away from the main event.

But probably just a clusterfrick.

I am conflicted... I don't want to contribute to thread derailment, but I also really want to contribute to that discussion

I am a lefty, and believe manmade climate change is a real and pervasive problem that needs drastic measures, like investment in nuclear power. I can't figure out why in the hell so many lefties rule out pragmatic solutions like nuclear. At the absolute very least it would be a stopgap technology for the foreseeable future. It is going to be quite a while before solar and other renewables are capable of producing enough power consistently.
