Doocy isn't asking Biden what he meant when he made the statements he made. Instead he is providing his own characterization of what Biden said and asking Biden why he said Doocy's own characterizations. Of course Biden did not speak those words. Using characterizations is ok if you are asking if that is what Biden meant when he said X. However, asking him "When you said X..." when he did not actually say X is a poor question.

I just saw an AN12 operated by Ukraine Air Alliance (according to FlightAware) fly over the house on approach to MSY. Looks like it came from Managua. Interesting. Flying professionally all over the world and I don’t eve remember seeing an AN12.

I have an experiment for you if you are willing. Turn off cable news for week. Avoid on the internet those you would normally see on cable news. Use that time that you would be using watching cable news to follow everything written by (or interviews of) just these three people: Michael Kofman, Rob Lee and Dmitri Alperovich. In a week you will be MUCH more informed about this conflict and you might be a little happier.

Dude, I mean I get those weren’t his exact words… but those were 100% the implications of what he meant.
I’m not a rabid Biden hater, but his comments had to be specifically walked back.
So did Trump’s people. He said tons of dumb stuff.
It’s really ok to call it out on both sides.

Again, that’s what you characterize the words. Same with the reporter.
And look, it’s ok to ask Biden about what he said. It’s also ok to characterize what he said and ask that question too. I’ve got no objection to the manner in which the questions were asked. I also understand why Biden responded the way he did. And as for them having to walk it back, yes, Biden would benefit from daily speech coaching. Throughout his entire career he has shown a regular propensity to say goofy things, and say normal things in a goofy way.

He literally alluded to removing Putin. You can’t just dismiss it. He told 82nd Airborne they’d understand Ukraine when they got there.
