I’m beginning to think Q started as a Russian campaign to destabilize US politics and soften the right’s stance on Russia, with Russia having just enough good intel on the US to sprinkle truth in amongst the obvious BS. The overlap between pro-Putin and pro-Q is quite impressive.
If you were to read about Active Measures, you'd understand even better how their propaganda works

I suspect he was referencing them deploying to Europe generally and not Ukraine specifically, but he gaffes nearly every time he speaks off the cuff. I don’t think it was some slip up that revealed we are actually putting boots on the ground in Ukraine.

Did I miss discussion of the military presser in Russia?

quote:

Firstly, the generals said Russia had always intended only to 'liberate' the Donbas, that was what it set out to do. It had two options: fight a war in the east, but allow Kyiv to replenish its forces, or start off by knocking out Ukrainian military capacities across the country.

quote:

Over a month of war, Russia has knocked out most of Ukraine's military capacities, the generals claimed, so can now move on to next phase, which will only be focused on the east, which could involve heavy bombardment.

quote:

Russia had never intended to capture Kyiv, Kharkiv and other cities, the generals said - these are not setbacks in other words, it's all part of the plan. And the plan was to distract Ukrainian forces while Russia/ Donetsk/ Luhansk made territorial gains in the east.

quote:

Defence ministry briefing also shared a new official figure for the number of Russian soldiers killed, the second statement by Russian side during the course of this war. Said 1,351 were killed - figure is far below Ukrainian and international estimates.

LINK

To me, the fact that Russia is admitting 1500ish deaths is somewhat remarkable and indicative of the reality that they cannot get away with signaling a lower number without sacrificing even more credibility.

If Putin can convince his people that they've won (or at least not lost) he can perhaps feel safe enough to not escalate this (we hope).

That’s what it looks like. Hopefully that is the case.

Maybe so, but they were addressing troops in Poland. Regardless, that's the kind of gaffe that could have some pretty significant ramifications.

Even by the standards of authoritarian propaganda, this is pretty revisionist shite.

I’d be willing to put up with his shite if there was something of positive substance to him.

The BS of the electoral process and modern politics in the age of social media and our Era of (Not) Good Feelings scares off anyone worth a shite.

As I always allude to here, we get the POSs that we POSs deserve.

Eritrea WTF is this place? Never heard of them before and most of my college classes for my major were Poli Sci, history, and geography.

It’s a pretty important country given that’s it’s independence rendered Ethiopia a landlocked war. The civil war/conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea and Sudan is probably the dominant geopolitical story for that region over the last 30 years.

Can anyone explain why they want Russia to win?

They think Ukraine is a corrupt country who's population deserves what they get.
