I was just about to post a tweet
Russia jas lost damn near a quarter of its starting Army. No wonder they're having problems.

Most of the early ones have been replaced. They are better but still.
Can confirm. We got some from the national guard after the hurricane. Much better than the old ones. All were palatable. Some were actually pretty good

I actually enjoyed MREs....right up until I had to live off of them for a month.

Nah. Remote mountain top in eastern Turkey. Remember that BMD radar we fired up in Turkey that pissed Russia and Iran off?

Russia had 150K+ troops in its Ukrainian invasion force. So 40K is roughly 25% of that total.

I assumed the number the Russians started with was 190k
25% of 190k is 47k. 20% is 38k.
If the 190 figure is wrong then I apologize. Its still a shite load of people either way even its more than 190k and would not be acceptable in the West. But Putin does not care.

He cares, though not due to any emotional attachment.
Probably a third to a half of the initial invasion force were combat arms if they are structured anything like most other modern armies. That's a hell of a lot of units becoming combat ineffective and goes a long way to explaining how they've lost the maneuver initiative in much of the country.

This is correct in the theater. But Russia has an army of about 900,000. Lots of reinforcements left.

Yup. See The Great War. Germans slaughtered millions in numerous victories and Russia would simply trot out more troops.
Posted on 3/23/22 at 3:02 pm to aTmTexas Dillo
Yeah buts that’s everything they have, no way even half of that would be made available for this fight would it?
Posted on 3/23/22 at 3:06 pm to OGtigerfan87
Putin cannot have a stalemate. He will move more troops in.
How much remains to be seen.
