As opposed to 40. It ended up being 10. So exaggerated by 30 planes or minimized by 6 planes, not all of which were bombers.
Still, Zelensky and his pimps are in the finding out phase of the consequences of this action. Biggest factor being viewed as a loose cannon that Trump and many of NATO hunchos now cannot support. Ukros have become a massive liability and this is far from their first stunt, but the loudest one.
They fricked up. Given your username I'm not surprised you haven't caught on.

ISW Update June 8 2025
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Kremlin officials and the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced on June 8 that Russian forces reached the Donetsk-Dnipropetrovsk Oblast border and are conducting offensive operations into Dnipropetrovsk Oblast — an oblast that Russia has not illegally declared as annexed.
Russian officials have repeatedly signaled that the Kremlin has wider territorial ambitions in Ukraine, including in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Russia continued to baselessly accuse Ukraine of failing to repatriate the bodies of killed in action (KIA) soldiers on June 8 — part of the Kremlin's efforts to undermine mutually agreed upon confidence-building measures with Ukraine.
The Kremlin appears to have orchestrated a concerted media campaign that aimed to use the purportedly agreed-upon KIA exchange in order to discredit Ukraine and promote Russia's justifications for its war to both domestic and international audiences.
Russian officials appear to be setting conditions to withdraw from international arms control treaties, likely as part of preparation for a potential future war with NATO.
Ukrainian forces reportedly struck a chemical plant in Tula Oblast on June 8.
Ukrainian and Russian forces recently advanced near Toretsk, and Russian forces recently advanced in the Povrovsk direction.

Ukraine's air defense neutralizes 460 Russian drones, four Kinzhal missiles
09.06.2025 11:40
From 20:00 on Sunday, June 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with 499 drones and missiles, including 479 Shahed-type attack UAVs and decoy drones of various models launched from Kursk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missiles from the Tambov region, ten Kh-101 cruise missiles from the Saratov region, three Kh-22 cruise missiles from airspace over the Black Sea, two Kh-31P anti-radar missiles from airspace over the Black Sea, and one Kh-35 cruise missile from temporarily occupied Crimea.
The attack was countered by fighter aircraft, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems forces, and mobile fire groups.
As of 10:30 on Monday, June 9, preliminary data indicates that Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 479 of the 499 drones and missiles.
Of these, 292 were physically shot down and 187 were disrupted or lost due to electronic warfare.
Specifically, 277 drones were shot down and 183 were lost or suppressed by EW. Ukrainian forces also intercepted ten Kh-101 cruise missiles and four Kinzhal missiles. Two Kh-22 missiles failed to reach their targets. Two Kh-31P anti-radiation missiles and one Kh-35 cruise missile were also destroyed.
Impacts were recorded in ten locations, with debris falling in 17 locations.

So it was a regional power attack in both size and capability.
And it more or less failed.
This was the big revenge for the Russians losing part of their nuclear triad?

Yes, I was warned by the professional poster that this was it. The big one was coming. What happened. Perhaps there weren’t enough bombers available?

We recently looked at a situation in Moscow where a Russian Orthodox priest (/FSB agent) published racial insults aimed at Muslims in Russia and got removed for it.
So a Russian / Armenian mil-blogger named Areg Shchepikhin then posted in support of the FSB/priest - “I f*cked your Allah, your Quran and everything you hold sacred,” Shchepikhin said in one of the videos Monday. (The term 'death wish' just popped into my head. Funny how that works.)
With uncanny predictability, Shchepikhin was then kidnapped in broad daylight at a central Moscow railway station by a Chechen para-military squad in Moscow.
Nothing was done, there was no police involvement, no attempt by the kidnappers to hide their faces or vehicle or stop passersby from filming the whole episode. Russian mir.
But because of the FSB fingerprints all over this blogger, he later miraculously popped up alive, albeit a bit worse for wear.
Although extremely lucky, I am guessing that due to a special cultural practice of Chechen males, he was standing when this photo was taken and will remain standing for some time. In other words, this photo shows the less injured end.
Also unwisely entering the fray is a commander of the Russian Akhmat unit under the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya), Apti Aludinov. He asked the authorities to arrest the priest for inciting hatred. (This is a thing in Russia...?) This seems to be the only recorded response from any Russian government source.
Anyway, it seems the local Katsaps decided to take to the streets to voice their displeasure. In the second video a bystander is saying that what’s happening is wrong because ‘this is not how it’s done in russia’. Yes, that's literally what he said. MRGA.
So many young healthy males of military age... They must be in training for their part in the Glorious SMO. Oh wait. Sorry, I forgot this protest was in Moscow.
Finally, we have this from Russian media -
Sounds familar somehow, especially that migrant part. But good to see the authorities are ready to flee. Just one or two more car bombs and the airports may be opened again.

According to a source close to government circles, the Kremlin has begun discussing the possibility of partially or completely moving key political institutions out of Moscow. At first glance, this sounds like fantasy, but, as the insider claims, high-ranking analysts have already sent the relevant reports to the country's leadership.
The reason is the growth of the capital's internal vulnerability. In recent years, Moscow has become oversaturated with migrants, a significant portion of whom, according to analysts, do not assimilate, but form closed communities with a high degree of internal mobilization. Moreover, naturalized migrants from Central Asia are actively accepted into the security forces, especially for lower and middle positions.
Sounds familar somehow, especially that migrant part. But good to see the authorities are ready to flee. Just one or two more car bombs and the airports may be opened again.

Russia's response was obviously a whimper in comparison to what Ukraine accomplished, but y'all get hung up on the weirdest shite
"achshually it was a regional power attack" well yeah, even a larger attack by someone using munitions every single day is probably going to different in size and scope compared to one Iran does once every couple of years. its completely different when you have to keep doing it, potentially for several more years.
shite like that is why some of us see the more hardcore Ukraine supporters more as propagandists than people looking honestly at the conflict.
Y'all are just consuming John Barron type content repackaged for a different audience and eating it up.

In fact, all mooselimbs are supposed to live by the example of Mohammed. Two hadiths (the life of Mohammed) tell the story of Mo and a friend walking out into the desert. Mo told his friend to stay where he was as he walked a stone's throw away to a group of Al Zutt (tall lean black men) where the mounted him ALL NIGHT LONG. In the morning Mo returned barely able to walk and laid his head on his friend's lap to sleep.
The fact is that per these hadiths, all mooselimb men are to willfully allow black men to have anal sex with them
