They don't have to physically control any of those objectives. If the civilian workers panic and flee, everything shuts down.
People feared Stalin enough to stay at their positions if he ordered them to. Putin doesn't command that level of terror. He barely controls the rank and file military.

Oh joy, you're back.
He's an alter of some other Putin cock holster who reappears in a different account after being humiliated under his previous screen name.
But how's it going in Russia? Last I saw was a press conference from Putin where the old alcoholic generals proclaimed the provocateurs would be quickly crushed.
Must be an odd feeling when Ukraine's summer offensive into Russia takes more land in a week than Russia's summer offensive into Ukraine took in 3 months

UKR hacked and monitored Russian traffic cameras to observe troop movements for this new front.
Brilliant!

According to this article they will have the D models by November

They don’t have any of our AIM-120D air to air missiles yet so you won’t see the F-16 used on the front line until that happens

Russian source on the Kursk situation: "Unfortunately, there is no good news again. The knock out of the enemy from Martynovka, which happened today, became our only successful episode to date.
Next, the enemy advanced. Unfortunately, the data of the Ukrainian Armed Forces entering Makhnovka was confirmed. Now there is objective control data for this. This means that tomorrow we may finally lose Sudzha.
But the bad news in this area didn't end there. There is also information that the enemy was seen in the village. Giryi. Moreover, not just small groups, but infantry on heavy equipment. If this is so, then the enemy is deeply enveloping our group in Sudzha and preparing a springboard for movement to the south and east. Here, unfortunately, we don’t yet see a particularly dense battle formation, and the enemy has a lot of reserves."

I think it’s to the point that Ukraine didn’t expect it to go this well, who could, but now it’s time to push your chips in and go for it. I know they have been training several new brigades well what better way to give them baptism by fire than by sending them into reinforce the battle hardened brigades that are in Kursk. They will learn a lot very quickly. If they can make a real foothold in the area and be able to hold the position it would greatly change Ukraine’s bargaining power.

This guy is talking about losing Sudzha tomorrow? They lost Sudzha three days ago. The front is 30 clicks NW of there already

DefMon reports on what he emphasizes are RUMORS of the insertion of another Ukrainian brigade making a push to the east: LINK
My guess at this point is that the rumors are not true, or at least are not true to the extent he reports. Nevertheless, the fact that such rumors run wild on Russian Telegram channels shows the current level of panic on the Russian side.

That’s a good question. Does Ukraine dig in? Do they exploit a weak spot and attempt to disrupt more Russian infrastructure? What are the risks? Rewards? How can this stunning breakthrough be maximized?

Again, the new rumors are about the Belovsky district, to the south and southeast of Sudzha and the current Ukrainian incursion:

but the Russians will annihilate these units and push back over the border into Sumy.
Lol how long have the Russians been trying to get and hold Sumy? Oh yeah, since the beginning...and they can't ever hold it.

Wow. Do read this report in the Russian daily Kommersant (easy to use Google Translate). The reporter, Alexander Chernykh, tried on Thursday to get to Sudzha, only to have to turn around as his car was threatened by Ukrainian drones.
He then interviewed refugees from Sudzha, and some of what they said will likely get them or him in trouble:

In the queue they realize that I am a journalist, and immediately other excited women surround me. They dump everything that they have accumulated over the past few days.
— I want to understand, where is our state anyway? Where is the administration? They could at least talk to us. We don’t know anything at all. Maybe they don’t know either, but they could at least support us! They could say, “My dears, we too, we are with you...” But there is no one.
— Why are there no addresses of temporary accommodation centres on the website? Where to register, where to call — nothing is clear!
— Why was there no evacuation at all? Everyone ran away on their own, as best they could — under fire, under kamikaze drones!
— Why did they lie on TV until the very end? They said that the situation was stable, that it was a small sabotage and reconnaissance group... Maybe people would have had time to leave normally, with their things.
— Convey to the state that we want to see them. Let the state tell us the truth — what should we expect? Will we return to our homes or can we say goodbye to them already? At least some crumb of honest information from the state!
"You just don't need to lie to people anymore. We can handle it ourselves, just don't lie to us," the large woman says irritably, and the others nod in agreement.
quote:
An elderly woman even treats me to cookies – it’s her birthday today. A relative calls her and they talk for a long time. “If they throw us out of here, we’ll come to you. We’re at war here, Simochka, can you imagine – a real war...” the woman says into the phone in a singsong voice.
quote:
The woman falls silent and then smiles nervously:
“I thought we would take them, but it turns out they are taking us.”
- And what do you think about this?
— I don’t think we have a Zhukov or a Rokossovsky in the Ministry of Defense. It turns out that we only have crazy corruption there. Now they’re putting generals in jail one after another — and ordinary people are watching and thinking: “What, were you planning to win the war with people like that?” Well, these aren’t toys, not tank biathlon! Ordinary people are very perplexed. In 2022, we had such a sincere surge of patriotism. Everything for the front, everything for victory — people were weaving nets and doing everything. And then they saw that everything wasn’t going as it should. And they started thinking — who made these plans anyway? Maybe we shouldn’t have sent the guys to Kyiv right away? Maybe we should have liberated Donbass first? And why did the crests prepare for ten years, while we negotiated with the Westerners for ten years? They showed their true colors at the Olympics — Satanists and ****. Why complain now that they deceived us. The common people look and do not understand how it was possible to trust such people.
She gets heated up, speaks louder and more sharply. I start to seriously worry that this frankness might backfire on her. Waiting for a pause, I nod meaningfully at the Investigative Committee employees sitting nearby:
- It's better to speak quietly about such things here...
The woman looks at me in surprise:
- Are they some other people? They have the same thoughts in their heads, I'm sure. Because now everyone has such thoughts in their heads.

Repairing a bombed out rail line is easy, a rail yard, not so easy. The frogs (the part that;s like a squeezed X) in the switches are made of manganese steel for the hardness. It can take beating much more than steel used for rails.
Urkaine doesn't have to actually take the Belgorad rail yards but to rain in artillery with more explosive power than HIMARS rounds, will really really hurt Russia.

And Ukraine is within reach of Belgorad with the Himars now?

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will take Bilhorod by the end of the month and Putin will not survive this humiliation.

But the operation doesn’t change the outcome of the war, although it may accelerate its end slightly, the Russians strongly support the war, and the Russian advantage in men and material remains. The attack will have three outcomes, it will further harden the Russian population, see Medvedev’s comments, and it exposes a large number of Ukrainian soldiers and importantly heavy weapons, to destruction at a faster rate. The third is clear from the television clip of Gerasimov and Putin, Putin was very unhappy with him, the Russians saw this coming (there was a big uptitck in airstrikes in Sumy preceding the attack) but they didn’t stop the Ukrainians at the border, and Gerasimov will probably get himself promoted out of his position as a consequence.
Given your track record of predictions, we definitely shouldn't bet on any of these outcomes. You've been the PEEJ of this war. Just amazing thoughts from a self-professed 143 IQ haver!

Rolling the Russian front up from behind their fixed fortifications could cause serious panic.

I'm wondering if there are any significant railway bridges in the area.
