It’s been a “secret” that basically everyone has known but I’m glad they are finally coming out with it. The first 6 have planes been in Ukraine for a couple weeks now along with their pilots.
I read a report that it's been over a month.

First F-16 fighter jets arrive in Ukraine, Bloomberg reports
Hopefully they’re coming with combat experienced pilots or they won’t last long

It means we will get bullshite stories about some pilot killing 70 battalions of Russians from the Ukrainians followed up by even bigger bullshite from Russia about how the F-16s are falling apart and they shot down almost all of them and they were piloted by bio-engineered Nazis

Oil wells dude, they produce something like 5 bbls a day, imagine if they produced 30-50 bbls a day. That would raise overall production a few million barrels a days of crude oil much more desired by refineries than tight shale crude which lowers productivity of a refinery to bankruptcy levels

The entire point of that was that EVERYONE assumed that Russian air assets would achieve dominance on Day 1, just like the US did over Iraq in 1991. Ukrainian jets held their own to a great extent. Russia never achieved air superiority much less dominance.
The US did the same in WWII. Every nation does this in wartime.

USA did it with Jessica Lynch in the Iraq War.

EDIT: Deleted the reported image of an F-16 supposedly over Lviv, after reading claims that the photo was fake.

Basically nothing. Air Force officials have stated it will take years to get enough pilots that are trained well enough to make any difference.

A Russian Mi-8 was shot down in Donetsk. Unsubstantiated rumors that a Ukrainian drone knocked out the helicopter which would make it the 1st helicopter to be shot down by a drone.
Shot down, or a Kamikaze type drone? Does Ukraine have the drones capable of firing missiles?

Not true. An F16 can carry twice the number of HARM missiles as Ukraine’s Migs. Ukraine has less than 10 Migs able to fire HARM missiles. If Ukrainian F16s take over the SEAD role it will double the number of HARMs Ukraine can use to degrade Russian air defenses. It also frees up Ukrainian migs to do other missions. Also F16s can take over for some of the Migs and allow them to have more maintenance time. F16s are not a game changer right now but they are going to allow the UAF to be more flexible and efficient.

So it will be the summer of 2025 or maybe the winter of 2025-2026 before Ukraine has enough trained soldiers, sappers, repaired tanks, repaired equipment, etc for it to launch another major counteroffensive. F16s not being a game changer now might be a disappointment to the sunshine pumpers who thought Russia would just bend over and take it when they saw the F16s, but to those in charge it’s not a surprise and they have planned accordingly.
On a side note, the long training period is why I was one of the first to suggest sending F16s to Ukraine way back in February 2022.
