Agree.

And we also would have been blatantly upfront that it was us who destroyed the pipeline

There was zero reason for anyone in the West to take it out.

Gazprom was facing a multibillion dollar penalty for contract default due it allowed hydrates to form in the feeder pipelines and crash the compressors feeding it.

Nordstream wasn't actually profitable but was political leverage over Germany.

But the far leftist Sy Hersh made up a story that nutters swallowed hook, line, and sinker.

You don’t seriously believe that if we weren’t providing Ukraine with aid that Biden would be using that money to maintain border control? You can’t be that dumb?

Well nevermind….. you don’t need to answer.

French Defense Reports Acknowledge Ukraine Is Done With

The French president Macron has recently pushed for an engagement of foreign troops in Ukraine. The idea was immediately rejected by every country that would be able to send a reasonable number.

The question is why Macron suddenly came out with this.

A series of recent reports from the French defense establishment might have caused his irritation.

The French magazine Marianne got access to "several confidential defense reports" from the French army on the situation in Ukraine.

Guerre en Ukraine : de la prudence à l'affolement… Ce que cache le virage de Macron (archived) - Marianne, Mar 7 2024

Arnaud Bertrand has translated large parts of it:

The situation looks exceedingly bleak for Ukraine, which might in part explain Macron's recent declarations around sending troops to Ukraine. I translated the important parts of the article:

"A Ukrainian military victory now seems impossible"

The reports Marianne consulted write that Ukraine's counter-offensive "gradually bogged down in mud and blood and did not result in any strategic gain" and that its planning, conceived by Kiev and Western general staffs, turned out to be "disastrous": "Planners thought that once the first Russian defense lines were breached, the entire front would collapse [...] These fundamental preliminary phases were conducted without considering the moral forces of the enemy in defense: that is, the will of the Russian soldier to hold onto the terrain".

The reports also highlight "the inadequacy of the training of Ukrainian soldiers and officers": due to a lack of officers and a significant number of veterans, these "Year II soldiers" from Ukraine - often trained for "no more than three weeks" - were launched into an assault on a Russian fortification line that proved impregnable.

It keeps the Germans on the reservation. If Nordstream is an option, there’s a risk that they would break and use it to save their economy.

Thanks for the confirmation. Once the Russians realize this there will be gasoline hoarding and rationing in Russia. Just in time for the elections. Stay tuned comrade.

Putin: Cross-border incursion by Russian anti-Kremlin militia 'attempt to interfere in elections'

by Kateryna Denisova and The Kyiv Independent news desk March 13, 2024 2:33 PM

"I have no doubt that the main purpose is to, if not disrupt the presidential elections in Russia, then at least somehow interfere with the normal process of expressing the will of citizens," Putin said in an interview with Russian state-controlled news agency RIA Novosti and Russia-1 TV channel.

He might be right, moving people across borders to influence elections is something this white house has a lot of experience in

The compressor station supplying it had shite the bed thanks to Russia's lack of proper dehydration of the gas.

Gazprom had been jacking with all of Europe for at least year in Enron fashion. That is why natural gas is cheaper today than it was pre Feb 2022.

The excuses from those who are clueless just keep coming.

Lame excuses from Putin just won't stop.

The election is already fixed so that the only opponents are total nothings.

What makes you think the GOP would take money for Ukraine & divert it to the border?

Don't be fooled

They were with or without Nordstream. That is why companies like BASF were investing in nations other than Germany.

I could go on and on but you likely wouldn't understand.

Germany has a severe demographics issue regarding ration of workers to pensioners. No natural gas supply at any price cannot change this.

This is why the Lancet was so effective. It was the widespread use of observation drones to identify targets.
