Think about this. Russia is the stronger country, they are supposedly gaining strength according to these posters; yet in the prime season for offensive measures they are reduced to digging in and playing defense; while Ukraine attacks.

It doesn’t add up.

Doesn't it?

The greatest strength of Russia is supposed to be its "unlimited bodies." But Russia is resorting to utilizing 14-year-old kids in factory work, which means these kids won't get educated and contribute to the knowledge economy.

If Russia is unable to cobble a work-force together, it's clear their strength is running out. This is one data point, but a very interesting one.

Zeihan is good on demographics, on even production of commodities, not so much. the dude thinks that Russia buys Bauxite from Ireland!!! What Russia does is use it hydroelectric power to reduce alumina to aluminum metal.

Reportedly, another Russian pilot escaped Russia and turned himself in to the US embassy.

A Russian Guards pilot Gavrichenko, callsign "Gavr", went on vacation with his family to the UAE. Having arrived there, he went to the US embassy and declared he didn't want to fight against Ukraine and wished to cooperate with US special services.

There is data that Russian security services were very disturbed by this and are now pondering closing the borders for Russian pilots and officers in general, as well as their families.

America is turning against US involvement in the conflict because Biden isn't giving Ukraine what it needs to win. His constantly saying "as long as it takes" is stupid.

Americans are turning against it because they have figured out they were being gaslighted the whole time.

Anyone who claimed the "spring offensive" would not accomplish much was silenced, see Gen. Milley for example.

Minister: 'Drone Army' hits record number of Russian artillery over last week

Ukrainian drone units supported by the "Drone Army" initiative destroyed or damaged 69 artillery guns and 17 self-propelled howitzers from Sept. 25 to Oct. 2, Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported.

This is a record number of Russian artillery struck by the "Drone Army" over one week, according to Fedorov.

"More damaged artillery means fewer shells (fired at) our military positions and front-line cities," the official said on Telegram.

The "Drone Army" units reportedly hit a total of 220 pieces of Russian military equipment in the past week, including 33 tanks, 41 trucks, and 37 armored fighting vehicles.

Ukraine's "Drone Army" is a joint initiative of the Digital Transformation Ministry and the governmental UNITED24 fundraising platform. It was launched in July 2022.

These people claim people are silenced, but I hear anti Ukraine opinions all the time.

Don’t get me wrong, I realize Ukraine and Russia each put their version of the truth out there. That’s what nations do especially those like Ukraine fighting for their very existence.

He is the recently retired chairman of the joint Chiefs of staff who stated last winter neither side was capable of dislodging the other and Crimea was a pipe dream.

Shortly after that he disappeared from public view and we fired up the gravy train and unified the message around taking everything back.

Only wing nuttters are claiming this. General consensus among those who support Ukraine is that it is possible to not only breach the line but make a breakthrough to the Sea of Azov this year, none said likely. None have claimed that Crimea will be taken back this year. Any closer and it will be risky for Russians to stay in Crimea. Ukraine doesn't have to take all the ground to the sea to do this.

Wrong.

A portion of General Milley's remarks following the most recent Ramstein meeting Press Conference on September 19:

"And for Ukraine to militarily eject those 2 or 300,000 Russian troops that are still there, that's a tough fight. They've liberated 54-plus percent of Ukraine but there's a lot left to go. So this is a tough fight, a hard fight, and Ukraine is making slow, steady progress every single day towards the end state that has been defined by their President and supported by all of the other international partners.

So this fight is not yet over. The fight right now is —still got plenty of fighting weather left. And then as you get into the winter, the grounds will get muddy but then it'll freeze and there's still —you know, in the conversations I've had, there's no intention whatsoever by the Ukrainians to stop fighting during the winter. They have the strategic initiative right now and they intend to continue to do that until their end state's achieved."

Lol the people who oppose Ukraine are backing Gen. Milley now? The same guy that said he would give China a heads up if an attack was imminent?

Let's keep it real, there was definitely some hopium/copium about what AFU could achieve in the spring/summer offensive.

Then again, there was a lot of conversation about how the Ukrainians failed to retake Kherson ... until they took Kherson.

Ukraine is best at utilizing their range advantage, hitting logistics and just bleeding the Russians. They're not going to win with combined arm tactics until they get an air force.

I have yet to see a single poster "oppose Ukraine", I have seen people with issues of how and what we are doing, and some who think Russia will win, but I have yet to see anyone oppose Ukraine.

Can yo provide some sort of link to some of these post?

Articles such as this one are irritating:

Associated Press

The Pentagon warns Congress it is running low on money to replace weapons sent to Ukraine

quote:

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon is warning Congress that it is running low on money to replace weapons the U.S. has sent to Ukraine and has already been forced to slow down resupplying some troops, according to a letter sent to congressional leaders.

The letter, obtained by The Associated Press, urges Congress to replenish funding for Ukraine. Congress averted a government shutdown by passing a short-term funding bill over the weekend, but the measure dropped all assistance for Ukraine in the battle against Russia.

Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord told House and Senate leaders there is $1.6 billion left of the $25.9 billion Congress provided to replenish U.S. military stocks that have been flowing to Ukraine. The weapons include millions of rounds of artillery, rockets and missiles critical to Ukraine’s counteroffensive aimed at taking back territory gained by Russia in the war.
quote:

McCord said the U.S. has completely run out of long-term funding for Kyiv through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which providesmoney to contract for future weapons.

“We have already been forced to slow down the replenishment of our own forces to hedge against an uncertain funding future,” McCord said in the letter. “Failure to replenish our military services on a timely basis could harm our military’s readiness.”

He added that without additional funding now, the U.S. will have to delay or curtail air defense weapons, ammunition, drones and demolition and breaching equipment that are “critical and urgent now as Russia prepares to conduct a winter offensive.”

President Joe Biden said Sunday that while the aid will keep flowing for now, time is running out.

The reason that this article is so infuriating is that no one points out that the slow-arse Pentagon has $9.3 billion of USAI assistance for Ukraine that we have announced and committed ... but which the Pentagon has not yet contracted. A lot of that aid was announced many months ago.

If you're wondering, there's something like another $10 billion that has been contracted, but deliveries for those systems have not been completed.

So, altogether, there's somewhere between $12-19 billion in aid that is already committed to Ukraine, but which hasn't been delivered. And, of course, this money has yet to be "laundered." It's still in DC. And this is simply how the slow Pentagon bureaucracy works.

A prominent Russian milblogger and front-line unit commander claimed that Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) Commander Colonel General Mikhail Teplinsky “saved” the Russian 31st Guards VDV Brigade, which was fighting south of Bakhmut, mirroring claims made by a much smaller milblogger about VDV units in western Zaporizhia Oblast. Vostok Battalion commander Alexander Khodakovsky recalled a conversation with then-Commander of the 31st VDV Airborne Brigade Colonel Andrei Kondrashkin prior to Kondrashkin’s death around Bakhmut in mid-September, in which Kondrashkin revealed that his forces suffered personnel losses and that their motivation to fight dropped to a critical level

A Telegram channel that advocates for Teplinsky also amplified Khodakovsky’s account, claiming that Russian VDV forces – namely elements of the Russian 7th and 76th VDV divisions – are facing similar issues in western Zaporizhia Oblast.[2] The milblogger claimed that Teplinsky is no longer able to rescue these divisions, however, as he was quietly stripped of his responsibilities

A Russian “Storm Z” assault unit instructor speculated that the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) removed Lieutenant General Andrey Sychevoy from commanding in the Bakhmut direction due to his poor performance. The instructor claimed on October 1 that the Russian military command removed Sychevoy from his position for conducting unprepared and unsupported counterattacks south of Bakhmut near Klishchiivka and Andriivka.[4] Sychevoy’s current formal position within the Russian military is unknown

Ukrainian forces marginally advanced in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area amid continued counteroffensive operations in western Zaporizhia Oblast and near Bakhmut on October 2. Geolocated footage published on October 2 indicates that Ukrainian forces marginally advanced northwest of Novomayorske (18km southeast of Veylka Novosilka).[7] The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces continued offensive operations in the Melitopol (western Zaporizhia Oblast) and Bakhmut directions.

Prominent actors in the Russian information space continue to speculate about the possible future of the Wagner Group under Rosgvardia. A Kremlin-affiliated milblogger claimed on October 2 that the Wagner Council of Commanders and Wagner Commander Anton Yelizarov (call sign “Lotos”) reached an agreement with Rosgvardia in which Wagner personnel must sign individual and group agreements to join Rosgvardia before January 1, 2024.[11] The milblogger claimed that the group agreements “serve as a guarantee that [Wagner] will not be ‘torn apart’” and that Wagner personnel will be able to keep their symbols and callsigns while serving under Rosgvardia. The milblogger claimed that although it is unclear where Rosgvardia will deploy its Wagner personnel in Ukraine, it will likely not be to the Bakhmut area where former Wagner personnel who signed contracts with the Russian MoD under former Wagner representative and current MoD employee Andrey Troshev are reportedly operating. The milblogger stated that the future of Wagner’s operations in Africa and the Middle East is also not clear as Rosgvardia has reportedly only approved Wagner’s use of aircraft for operations in the war in Ukraine and the new Wagner leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin’s son Pavel, is focusing only on Wagner’s business in Russia

Interethnic tensions and claims about the superiority of Chechen “Akhmat” forces over regular Russian forces continue to generate controversy in the Russian information space. Chairman of the “Patriots of Russia” political party and the State Duma Committee on Nationalities Gennady Semigin reportedly published a since-deleted statement on the “Patriots of Russia” website in support of Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov’s son on September 29 after Kadyrov’s son was filmed beating a detainee accused of burning a Quran.[14] The post stated that “if the Russian soldier defended his ideals as uncompromisingly, then the [Chechen] Akhmat battalion would not have to kick the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces onto the battlefield.”[15] Semigin’s post generated widespread criticism within the Russian information space on October 2, with one Russian official going so far as to call for Russian authorities to ban Duma members from speaking publicly about the war in Ukraine.[16] One Russian milblogger accused Semigin of attempting to incite ethnic hatred by comparing ”brave Chechens with cowardly Russians.”[17] Semigin later issued a statement on Telegram claiming that unspecified actors hacked the ”Patriots of Russia” website to publish the statement in protest of a bill on interethnic relations that his team was developing

Russian forces conducted a small-scale Shahed-131/136 drone strike on Ukraine on the night of October 1-2 after Russian forces conducted a record number of drone strikes targeting Ukrainian grain and port infrastructure in September 2023. Ukrainian military officials reported that Russian forces launched seven drones from the Krasnodar Krai direction and that Ukrainian air defenses shot down four drones.[21] Ukrainian Air Force Spokesperson Colonel Yuriy Ihnat stated that even though Russian forces have launched fewer drones in the past days, the Russian strikes still target Ukrainian military and infrastructure areas and are reconnoitering Ukrainian air defenses

Russian forces conducted offensive operations near Kreminna, near Bakhmut, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line, in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia Oblast border area, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast and reportedly advanced in some areas on October 2.

The Russian “Vostok” Battalion continued to complain on October 1 that the Russian military command is not fulfilling its promises of having the unit fight as a second-echelon force and is not providing state awards.

Russian occupation officials continued to transport Ukrainian children to Russia under the guise of educational trips.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 03 October 2023

New polling by Russia's state-owned Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTSIOM) suggests that the authorities are successfully using the 'foreign agent' designation as a tool to manipulate public opinion behind the state's anti-West, pro-war narratives.

On 26 September 2023, VTSIOM reported the results of a poll of Russians' attitudes towards people and organisations registered as 'foreign agents'. VTSIOM claimed 61% of those surveyed said that they considered 'foreign agents' to be 'traitors' who 'disseminate lies' about Russia.

Russia has broadened the foreign agent legislation since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The measures significantly narrow the information space within Russia, making it increasingly difficult to articulate any viewpoint, including dissenting about the war, which deviates from the official line.
