Part of Putin's path to invading Ukraine was watching what happened to Qadaffi and becoming further terrified that the west would ultimately take him out like that and thus the process of insulating himself in a bubble where he only listened to sources that told him that the Ukrainian people consider themselves Russian and the Ukrainian government and military would fold easily. I don't think this event takes him out (but really who tf knows), but it's pretty clear he's weakened his security situation rather than strengthened it with all of his neo-colonialist nonsense.

Interesting the Chechens are reportedly going to intercept Wagner. When I first started catching up my thoughts were the opposite and wondering if the Chechens would try to capitalize chaos and multiple fronts for their own individualist gains.

Obviously, massive implications for Ukraine and Russia. Odds this May spark similar actions in Belarus?

This is how you do it. The problem for Russia is Wagner knows how to do this and can not only sustain itself but actually improve its situation.

No telling what they picked up in Rostov and if they are draining the territories of equipment this is a long term operation and not "statement".

Seems extremely risky/reckless unless you have intel about who will and won’t resist.
