Yes, destroying the dam at Nova Kakhovka would not only flood the left (Russian) bank but also end the supply of water to Crimea. In addition, the supply of cooling water to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power facility would also be cut.

Dude said that Kherson City would be Russia forever.

His last few weeks he had gone from needling the board to just shouting emotional nonsense cheerleading for Russia as if he had a gun to his head.

ETA: Maybe STD can drop by to tell us how the maps look the same. Or how the video of residents celebrating is a North Korean deep fake.

For long threads like this it would be helpful if you could search through the thread based on when someone was banned/vanished

It could be like the the tombstones in Oregon Trail.

July 15 Here Lies Lima: insulted the Jews.

Aug 15 Here Lies Ruff: mobilized for make glorious Russia.

October 1 Here Lies BKRespector: self immolation from excessive flaming.

In side news that is greatly over shadowed by events (and Kherson is a big deal) it appears that issues between the St. Petersburg government and the Wagner Group are escalating. Wagner wants to build a major training center there and after initially approving it the local government is now reigning things in.

Increasingly local governments, with declining leadership from Moscow, are taking a harder line against the Wagner Group. For a place like St. Petersburg, which was thriving before the war, the Wagner Group's strident belief that the war must continue to ultimate victory no matter what is difficult to support.

Once drained would the river/lake portion between Nova Khakovka and Zaporizhzhia be easily crossable? It’s my understanding the Dneipro was once quite shallow, though still wide, in some of those areas(pre-damming).

@wartranslated

Some people spoke about Dugin's letter from yesterday, here's the full translation. He states that Russian authorities reached the limit of what they can surrender. He blames Putin directly for the failures and low-key threatens him with death.

I will be very interested to see if Russia actually pulled off a decent retreat leaving behind minimal munitions for Ukraine or if it was a complete rout at the end and they ran like in Kharkiv. But Ukraine should be sending any reserves to the Donbas right now because that’s where the Kherson garrison is going for Putin. He’s going to try to bust through somewhere because he just got made like a joke over the last 3 months and it looks to have hit a high water mark taking Kherson back. Putin’s ego won’t allow getting handled like he’s been without retaliating. Nobody is going across that river anytime soon in any kind of force and the Donbas has always supposedly been priority one for Putin although I’m not sure I believe that. What happens in the next 4-6 weeks will be interesting.

It was actually a Ukrainian one that was down when the Russians invaded and they never repaired it while Russia held it. Regardless looks like a pretty solid airframe structure wise.

I haven't any pics, videos, or descriptions of the situation near the dam. But, otherwise, it appears that the Russian retreat was conducted with a minimal loss of personnel and equipment.

As too the Russians doing an organized disciplined retreat-lol. Chances are slightly better in Putin winning Nobel peace prize this year.

The Russian used to be good at scorched earth type retreats
