And Medvedev is even smaller. A couple of Slavic elves somehow managed to get the keys to the Russian Empire.

They didn’t promptly wreck it. That process took a little time.

In regards to the Nord Stream pipelines, the gas pressure is predicted to drop to equalization either tomorrow or Monday. This should allow the start of the inspection process, unless there is continued pressure. Which would remove any doubt as to Russian culpability.

The main question after obtaining any evidence will be whether or not the lines may be repaired. If they can, the cooperation of the Russians must be established first in order to clear the line upstream of the breaks of seawater. That cooperation may take a long time, during which internal corrosion of the line would increase. At some point this corrosion would make any repair moot.

I suppose if this is the pipeline's unfortunate fate, a secondary use could be developed - as a sewer pipe from both Russia and Germany. They would have to change the name though. Let me think... oh, how about the Schröder - Merkel Line? A fitting legacy.

So, just a wild guess here without reading the last month of this thread-Y’all believe Russia blew up its own pipeline because the US government told you so?

I’m reading online that Ukrainians are in Lyman and are heavily engaging forces fleeing towards Kremima. They air dropped mines on the road, and the Russians are getting stuck and fleeing on foot. It sounds like a panicked retreat, but from everything I have read the last few days, the Ukrainians have at least a 3:1 advantage near Lyman, so this shouldn’t be surprising.

No, the US government hasn't told anyone who blew up the pipeline, because there's no proof yet.

I believe that Russia blew up the pipeline, because they are the only ones with the ability to blow it up who are likely to have done so.

These last couple of days are likely to have been the bloodiest of the war.

Estimates vary widely on how many Russians stayed behind in Lyman, but somewhere from 1000 to 5000. Ukrainian forces attacked the city from four sides and entered the city yesterday and, according to some reports, controlled some 30-40% of it by nightfall.

Once they were cut off, some have tried to flee east, only to be killed on the road to Kreminna. Supposedly, that road is full of destroyed vehicles.

If you feel like looking for them, there are lots of videos on Telegram of dead Russians.

There are reports that Ukraine also has a hold of the east side of the Zherebets, in Terny.

Lyman about to be liberated. The fate of 5000+ Russian soldiers is unknown apparently land mines have been dropped all over their only real exit point so many are fleeing on foot, the post about illusionary routes of escape from a day or two back is true, they will surrender or perish evidently. Ukrainians hold a 3-1 manpower advantage around the city.

I personally have no real insight into who blew it up. There are several individual countries and groups of countries that have a potential motive and probably the means. What I find interesting is the same groups of people that have a penchant for labeling lots of things false flags can't possibly see any motivation for Russia to do it. It is like blaming it on the US and/or NATO would be of zero benefit in the mind of Putin/Russia. The fact that the pro-Russia accounts in SM keep hammering that there is no possible benefit for Russia gives me pause in ruling them out.

Countries that believe they are in an existential crisis will do some seemingly odd or crazy things to survive. It is like Aron Ralston, no sane person just chops off their arm but faced with his own existential crisis which is exactly what he did. Again I am not saying Russia did it but excusing them from the discussion involves either poor critical thinking or a pro-Russia/anti-American agenda. Note the anti-American agenda could just be an anti-Biden admin agenda.

No dofuss. I believed that from the get go, because I know about things.

Russia refused two free Siemens turbines to get the flow going again, so it didn't want to use them

Mongolia will issue residency permits to all Russians seeking one.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I like this news and was bummed when Finland closed its borders. I want people to flee Russia.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 1 October 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

On 30 September 2022, Russian forces almost certainly struck a convoy south-east of the town of Zaporizhzhia. Local authorities report 25 civilians killed. The munition involved was likely a Russian long-range air defence missile being used in a ground attack role.

Russia's stock of such missiles is highly likely limited and is a high-value resource designed to shoot down modern aircraft and incoming missiles, rather than for use against ground targets. Its use in ground attack role has almost certainly been driven by overall munitions shortages, particularly longer-range precision missiles.

On the same day, President Putin signed annexation agreements for Zaporizhzhia and other parts of occupied Ukraine. Russia is expending strategically valuable military assets in attempts to achieve tactical advantage and in the process is killing civilians it now claims are its own citizens.

Ah, the stuff of conspiracy theories. Good thing is our intelligence agencies know who did it.

Everyone should be helping out Russians who wish to flee, but it’s probably a little easier for Mongolia since they border sparsely populated Siberia.

I’m disappointed in Finland too, but they border a much more densely populated region and probably fear a greater logistical nightmare.

I just woke up and am seeing the same thing from all the different sources I follow, Russian and Ukrainian.

Looks like Lyman is falling/fallen.

Some reports are calling it a rout, some aren’t.

And also keep in mind that Putin is ramping up anti-western rhetoric wildly and it won't just be people fleeing the regime in Europe, but Putin has had GRU operators and FSB 5th service for many years and large groups of Russian dissenters make a great cover for ops that Eastern European types are trying to prevent. I have mixed feelings about it, though because those outflows deprive Russia of mobilization and economic resources. At the same time, though, a restive population within Russia is a headache for Putin (though it's when Russian conscripts get demobilized after a losing war that it tends to get really bad for Russian leaders).

Yeah. There are a lot of factors in place that have to be weighed before accepting Russian refugees. I wish more could be accepted but I don’t strongly begrudge countries along NATO’s eastern flank who don’t want to accept them.

I just read somewhere (closed the link unfortunately), that most of RU soldiers were able to retreat and escape. If so, that's unfortunate.
