They are upgrading and expanding it. They’re building smaller reactors to expand their own capacity and for export to other nations to help them move to nuclear power. France pleaded with the EU, particularly Germany, to recognize nuclear as a preferred low/no carbon energy source.
Not arguing you, just bringing up they are lowering their use of nuclear power from 75% to 50% by ~2035, unless things have changed. Interesting that they are still building smaller reactors while doing this.

Seeing a lot of talk about Russians not sending their best to lead the way…conscripts, riot police, etc.

The Ukraine military just destroyed all the railroad links to Russia.
Smart move since the Russian military is having problems maintaining supply chains.

Surreal: a Ukrainian drives up to Russian invading soldiers, asks, did you break down, they respond, he says, maybe I could tow you back to Russia. They laugh. Then he tells them, Kyiv’s fine, many of your guys’ve surrendered. Drives off to only run into another broken down tank

I've seen this but there are significant amount of reports showing that some of the best columns that are destroyed were columns based out of Moscow and have their best equipment, etc.
The fog of war.

[FoxNews] Ukraine-Russia War: Russian troops underfunded, equipment sub-par, according to reports
quote:
The Russian effort to invade Ukraine appears to have been underfunded and under-equipped to handle the swift takeover that Russian President Vladimir Putin was hoping for.
Russia is "increasingly frustrated" by the lack of momentum in the invasion, particularly in the north of the country, a U.S. official said Saturday. Despite the months of planning and preparation, Russia has yet to achieve air superiority, and Ukraine retains command-and-control.
And a senior U.S. defense official told Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin that the Russian military is not moving or fighting at night: Most movement starts just before dawn and occurs during the day because they don’t have night vision and are not trained in night vision, which contributed to slower than expected progress.

There has been plenty of night fighting. Would be interesting if the Ukrainians are the ones instigating it and running.

Just so we are clear, Bellingcat is a charity group tracking human rights violations, war crimes, etc. Their tweet I posted earlier was asking for verification of Russian use of cluster bombs, and the pics they posted were not represented as being current, but intended for verification purposes and a guide to identification of the bombs/rockets.
Here is the tweet:

Bellingcat is extremely good at what they do on the OSINT side. They've been outing Russian intel agents and hit squads for years.

They consistently amaze me. Just some baws on the interwebs proving war crimes, doxing Russian assassins and intelligence officers, etc. Pretty cool what they do.

No worries. You provide lots of great content. It was just something I saw. I probably should have dived deeper as well

Reportedly, this shows Ukrainian troops killing Russian tank convoys near Ivankov, close to the Chernobyl Zone.
