it’s basically a leftist subreddit at this point
I have been a little surprised by some of the posts and upvote to downvote ratios on here but leftist subreddit ? An actual leftist subreddit would view this entire site (not just the political board) as a far right site because that’s how far on the left they are and the fact that this site is right leaning

Looks like the Kremlin is confirming that Anonymous is fricking up their gov sites.

The Kremlin website is being targeted by cyberattacks, spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told state news agency TASS on Saturday.
“Attacks are ongoing,” Peskov told TASS. "[The website] often freezes.”
Some Russian government websites, including the Kremlin and Ministry of Defence, have been down for a third day in a row.
The hacking group Anonymous has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
On Friday, the same Russian websites appeared offline for a while, but the Kremlin denied it was being attacked by Anonymous, according to state media.

[The Guardian] India’s prime minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday he would help peace efforts over the Ukraine invasion, Reuters reports, on a phone call with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
quote:
Modi said India was willing “to contribute in any way towards peace efforts” while Zelenskiy briefed him about the conflict, a government statement said.
It comes after India – alongside China and the United Arab Emirates – abstained from voting on a UN Security Council resolution to deplore Russia’s invasion. Russia vetoed the resolution.
Modi also express his “deep anguish about the loss of life and property due to the ongoing conflict”. He also raised the issue of the safety of Indian citizens asked for help to evacuate students.

No, I would claim that pun. It’s nice.
Somebody else is doing something at a high altitude. There’s a ton of carnage just happening out of the blue, pun intended.

[FoxNews] Ukraine official calls for stronger sanctions, 'decisive decision' on Ukraine EU, NATO membership
quote:
Ukrainian MP’s Liaison to the international community Pavel Unguryan issued a plea Saturday to establish a tribunal and prosecute Russian President Vladimir Putin for war crimes.
Unguryan, on behalf of the Movement Free Ukraine, criticized President Biden for issuing sanctions that are “nowhere near strong enough” and issued a number of demands.
“It is now the time to put far more damaging financial weapons into play; those which would instantly have a negative impact on the Russian military and economic machine,” he wrote.
Unguryan called for greater punishments, such as cutting Russia from the SWIFT banking system and expanding the list of individuals subject to personal sanctions, and introducing a “no-fly zone” over Ukraine.
Most notably, he urged for “a decisive decision to grant Ukraine the EU and NATO membership.”

Yep. France warned them and begged them not to move away from nuclear power. Honestly France is in one of the best positions here on the whole.
I think France is even reducing their amount of nuclear power, which seems ridiculous. Maybe they will rethink that idea after all of this.

Yeah, but where would the Chinese stop? At the western Russian border? Or once it gets through to the Atlantic Ocean?
They wouldn’t get to Moscow. Russian ineptitude (potentially) in Ukraine /= defensive performance involving full mobilization domestically. China actually invading Russia would have to get extremely ugly and involve civilian casualties. They couldn’t just March across Siberia successfully.

If Ukraine successfully drives Russia out, we should humbly ask them to admit us to an alliance.

[FoxNews]Russia orders military to 'develop the offensive along all axes': reports
quote:
The Russian Defense Ministry announced Saturday that its armed forces have been "given orders today to develop the offensive along all axes in line with the operation plan," according to reports.
"After statements by the Kyiv regime yesterday that it was ready for negotiations, combat activities along the key axes of the operation were halted," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov was quoted as saying by Interfax.
"After the Ukrainian side rejected a negotiating process, all units were given orders today to develop the offensive along all axes in line with the operation plan," he added.
The development comes after a United Kingdom intelligence assessment determined that the "speed of the Russian advance has temporarily slowed likely as a result of acute logistical difficulties and strong Ukrainian resistance."
"The captures of Kyiv remains Russia's primary military objective," that assessment added.

I don’t think there is a major economic power in the west that hasn’t reduced their nuclear output. The entire world chose to move away from it.

Of course it’s not simple, none of this is simple.
But, at some point, they may have to pick a side. Maybe Germany will finally pick a side where they actually come out looking decent in the end for once.
Maybe the Germans and the Russians can agree to a pact of non-aggression. That should ease world tensions.
