Guess what? War happens when you have unhinged fricks like Putin in power so when you have an opportunity to take him out of the equation you do it, especially when it’s not costing American blood. Do you know the ridiculous money we have spent on stupid shite like the Mexicans crossing the border and helping them financially or all the ridiculous shite stuffed in those stimulus packages that I saw not a single cent of. When you have a rabid animal you take it out. Are you aware of the absolute carnage the Ukrainians, regardless of whatever the outcomes is, has done to Putin’s main forces? They have taken a wrecking ball to the Russian military ranks as well as their hardware especially their finite precision munitions that are quickly running out with all the sanctions imposed not letting them get materials to make more so they are forced to go back to 1960’s armor and ammunition. You’ve taken what was supposedly a superpower and made them a paper tiger that would have no chance against a real military like ours. It will take Russia years and immense money to replace their losses on the battlefield for their “special operation” that made their invasion into Afghanistan look like a picnic. The more dead Russians and blown out tanks, choppers and planes the better. If they are stupid enough to keep sending their troops into the meat grinder I say give them the shite to chop them up with. Send enough coffins back to Russia until they put Putin in his own. The Ukrainians are fighting for their homeland, how do you expect them to fight? If they didn’t have bullets they would have pitch forks and Molotov cocktails just as we would defend our homes at all cost so are they. Russia is big enough, Putin is just the bully on the street that always wants more. The day he dies the Russian people will be all the better for it.

What an asinine thing to say. Who the frick is "For War"?
Of course men understand that sometimes war is the best option.

. It bleeds Russia of financial resources and makes them weaker in the cyber domain and in the IRL AO
This could have been done by sending much less. We hadn’t even spent initial aid fully when voting in a House inflated $40 billion package. We also aren’t exactly in an economic boom.

2. It causes their puppet states and ally states to rethink just how capable Russia is and makes them rethink buying their weapon systems.
Who else are their puppet and ally states going to buy from? China? China is our biggest threat on multiple fronts, and China filling in vacuum would be worse for us.
Do we sell weapon systems to Iran? I know Democrats love giving Iran what it wants including cash, but I doubt they will start selling them weapons systems unless they want WWIII to start in the Middle East which would make Europe more dependent on Russia oil & gas.
Do we start funding or selling weapons to Bashar in Syria?
Does this make Cuba finally turn to freedom when it didn’t even follow the Soviet Union 30 years ago?
Throw in any despot ruler across the globe supported by or allied with Russia. We could already outspend Russia anywhere we wanted. Wanted is key word.
The puppets are their puppets for a reason. Same with most allies. They will still buy from Russia or it will be China.
India might be only exception, but we would have to balance the Pakistan question without another war.
quote:
It is certainly making China rethink its short-term plans for Taiwan. They know the West's response will be far greater in defense of Taiwan than Ukraine.
Opinion? Or based in objective facts?
Anyway Rethinking doesn’t mean stopping. China has more money and more economies across the globe and Democrats by the balls than Russia could even dream of. Big Tech (and Lebron) would shite themselves justifying any action by China.
What has the world done to China about Wuhan or their Muslim interment camps?
This thread is full of same posters both saying we should laugh at Russia’s current military capabilities but also saying we must fully support and fund Ukraine to bleed Russia dry as they are enemy that must be defeated.

Excuse my ignorance here as I have been too busy at work lately to keep up with everything.
Where is the $40 Billion coming from? If it's coming from Defense spending, it's a better Defense expense than the lives of soldiers in the long run.
Posted on 6/13/22 at 2:37 am to magildachunks
Regardless of how it’s earmarked later Its added spending and not from original budget. It along with the most of total of $54 billion to date is being printed or borrowed. Some of the early aid before the 2 aid packages (March & May) may have been moved from something else in budget (technically still printed or borrowed).
Short term saves lives versus sending in soldiers now (that’s assuming supporting Ukraine is an absolute need and requirement of the US excluding Biden’s need and aid not wasted or “lost” by Ukraine), but long run it does not offer any guarantee. It may lessen loss of lives, or it may cause them.

Bottom line is it's coming from American tax payers. Let's take care of Americans first before giving out money to others.

Here is a recap of your conflict: Ukraine is still losing. Now stop being part of the herd. Americans, at home, need help first!

The US is not at war. But there are other countries that are. Should your opinion hold sway in those countries?

When you are a neutral country but get 90 percent of your ag staples from a country being attacked you might want to be pulling for your supplier instead of the one that's trying to destroy it and offers you nothing.
Where my OG war knowledgers, academics, and those with experience at? Need me a Monday morning update. I brought coffee and there are 2 bites left of a good ole American Made apple fritter.

No shite, the constant stream of shite posting is tiresome. I still am following the war closely, but what’s the point of posting about it here. I love TD, but it seriously needs some moderation.

That idiot went on for pages and pages yesterday and last night. It was ridiculous.
In other news, I keep hearing about Ukraine's ammo and equipment shortages. It is beyond serious for Ukraine. If the west doesn't immediately step up I fear this may be over. And it may be too late.

UPDATE ON UKRAINE
13 June 2022
Over the weekend, the battle around Sieverodonetsk has continued to rage. Over the coming
months, river crossing operations are likely to be amongst the most important determining
factors in the course of the war.
The key, 90km long central sector of Russia's frontline in the Donbas lies to the west of the
Siverskyy Donets River. To achieve success in the current operational phase of its Donbas
offensive, Russia is either going to have to complete ambitious flanking actions, or conduct
assault river crossings.
Ukrainian forces have often managed to demolish bridges before they withdraw, while Russia
has struggled to put in place the complex coordination necessary to conduct successful, large
scale river crossings under fire.

Seeing much of the same, but did note that in yesterday’s speech Zelensky claimed that Russia would have 40k KIA by the end of the month, which suggests that both sides are taking significant losses. Nothing about the recent news suggests that Russia is capable of any significant offensive or that they are about to achieve any significant strategic victory.
