The Palma’s (Alfred Palama construction) own at least some of them and the sheriff used them during the recent storms to store assets out of harms way. They’re way bigger than they appear from the satellite view. Google maps actually has street view of the entrances. Some good dove fields right in the immediate area.

NG is very active there. I live close to the runway approach path and always see fighters and bombers taking off and landing.
The original runway was actually longer. Broad street passes through the old runway now.

Who owns that land and what are the odds they would want to sell it?
Scruffy would buy.
Assuming the government, so, no dice?

Stexas just informed Scruffy what Scruffy inquired about 3 posts above Scruffy.

I had a look at an old picture of Gerstner field and Google maps. So the cement slabs you can now see were obviously the old hangers on the south side of Old Camp road. This old pic is looking west to east. Pretty wild that all this stuff from WWI is still visible on google maps.

Those are ammunition magazines. Chennault used to be a military airfield, remember?

Lake Charles looks like a bomb went off. It’s probably a shelter.

FWIW those look exactly like the “bunkers” at Camp Minden that they used to store propellant years ago and blew up

Might be a good spot to go metal detecting

Funny you post this, I just noticed them Friday when I was over there. Assume they were something left over from wwII or along those lines. Guess they are more visible bc trees are gone or leaves off trees etc

It was a SAC Base, so I am going to guess munitions storage.

Back in the 80's I worked for a company that used explosives in oilfield related work and we used to store our c-4 in one of those.

It’s where the atomic bombs were stored

I know the owner’s family really well. They’re old ammo bunkers from when it was a military base.

Matter/anti-matter reactor and weapons research facilities.
It's left over from the late 70's to mid 80's back when they thought they could deal with that shite.
It's amazing that any of that area still exists.

My dad took me out here probably 15-20 years ago. Could still walk the slabs and there was still metal debris on the slabs and in adjacent fields.
