Calling all Tiger Nation and Tiger Droppings faithful. The damage and devastation in Lake Charles is not getting the coverage that it needs. There are many people without. Just because there wasn't an "unsurvivable" storm surge, doesn't mean it wasn't the strongest storm to hit the coast in 100+ years. Please share and help as you can. Fellow classmate and true hometown, MLB pitcher started a gofundme to help rebuild LC. Please share and hope LC and the surrounding area can get the help it needs. Thanks!

Just drove past there. Seemed like 1 in 6 pine trees were snapped in half. All the homes and businesses near I-10 had significant damage.

Was down there weekend. Traveled under that tree during the day and almost ran into it that night

My SO’s aunt and uncle’s house sustained significant damage but it’s still standing. LC took a shot.

The 2 disc golf courses over there are shredded. It must have been historically bad.

Don’t forget the folks north in Ragley, Longville and DeRidder. They all got smashed. I have family that lives there.

Brother sent me videos, pics of areas south of LC. Hackberry and Holly Beach looked unrecognizable. Sad.

Praying the whole SWLA is able to recover fast and my heart hurts for all the folks there.

My sister, BIL and kids have been serving food out of their food truck, Cajun on Da Geaux, for the past week around Lake Charles for free from donations they have gathered. They have served around 6k meals for free, so far. Crazy stories coming from them about how bad it was and what these people are going through. God bless everyone over there right now.

My husband and I are heading into Sulphur tomorrow to deliver supplies and help my family with cleanup efforts. My little brother told me it looks like a war zone—the worst he has ever seen—and he helped up clean up after our house flooded in Katrina. I can’t even imagine how it’ll feel to see my hometown like that.

God bless everyone who is donating and helping.

I live in DeRidder, it’s pretty bad here. Huge pine trees down everywhere and on peoples houses. LC had major wind damage, we had wind damage, but most damage from trees on houses

Help if y’all can. The entirety of SW Louisiana was affected. This is getting next to no coverage nationally (probably because of the election)

It was like a 30 mike wide EF3 tornado. It’s indescribable. And it’s so unbearably hot.

How do we help? Are there any organized events this Labor Day weekend?
