Chicago May to October. West Los Angeles during the other months. Best of both weather-wise.

I lived in Cypress for several years a while back, it was pretty nice.

Cypress (77433) ranks as the most moved-to ZIP code in the entire country for 2025, bringing in 3,638 new residents

Knew cypress was booming but didn’t know it was booming as in #1 in the USA

chicago actually rules, despite what you hear about it.

So I’ve been told. Especially during the summer. Heard the city itself is cool but also has some of the best burbs in the country.

Are people generally nice? How’s the food scene?

All 4 of those places have “fallen” per the poli board. Baton Rouge is your safest bet.

LA Chicago NYC Houston

As someone who lives in the Houston region it’s just weird to think of Houston in the same context as Los Angeles Chicago or New York City.

Just doesn’t feel like one of these. Is it due to the city being so spread out? Downtown Houston is dead. It’s always a ghost town aside from Minute Maid for games.

Chicago is a shithole for the most part. I’m sure the western burbs aren’t to bad.

No way I’d live in L.A.
Houston maybe
NY I doubt it.

They're ok, but I'd rather live in the northern burbs.

Id honestly prefer Chicago. I had to spend a couple of months there. Felt safer than NOLA, BR, or Shreveport enenthough you would swearbit was Iraq based of whatbyou see on FOX or Facebook. Food was pretty good. I liked that it was walkable but wasn't as dense as NY. Lots of job opportunities.

LA- the weather is great and lots to do

Easily the best weather of the 4 choices and more importantly than lots to do is the diversity of things to do. Good beaches, hiking in the middle of the city, big bear (skiing) and lake Arrowhead just outside the metro area.

I'll agree with others, however, that living outside of LA proper (eg orange county, beach areas, San Fernando valley) is significantly better.

Definitely Houston out of those choices.

I couldn’t deal with the super liberal administration in the other choices

$300? How long has it been since you’ve been to those cities? Nice is over $500 per night now. It’s actually $494 for a standard room at the Hyatt Regency in 2 weeks.

Chicago winters make it a hard no for me.

NYC is great is you have a money and lots of it.

Parts of LA are great but overall wouldn’t want to live there just too much bullshite. NYC>LA except the weather

I would say Houston overall
